i just bought ffxi like a few hours ago and after i installed POL i rebooted and tried to run it but i get an error that says that POL has an error and needs to be shutdown. I relly need help.

Had to register just to answer your question so you don't go through what i had to.

Reinstall the video card drivers and reboot.

I noticed that after i updated video card drivers, the playonline viewer started to work properly again...until a few days later when i was playing WoW and ATi's VPU recover function kicked in (known glitch spot in WoW and ATi cards). Until i reinstalled drivers, Play Online kept crashing at launch and nothing else i did would help.
