I was wondering if anyone knew if players were allowed to buy multiple accounts or if you only get one account with each game you buy and are only allowed to add characters to that account.

You can add character to an account, but to get a new account you need another CD key, i think.

umm yeah that should be fine, as long as u still use the same form of connection: if u change it, make sure u adjust your stats as well. i dont think character creation has anything to do with location

And i wasnt talking about character creation. I just want to know if square will recognize me as the same account in a different location automatically, and if not what do i do?

Your identity to Square is saved on your HDD. Your account is saved on Square's servers. If you move(and don't uninstall anything) then FFXI will connect using a new IP(considering you get a new ISP and all) but you will access your same account. They'll know it's you. If you somehow have to reinstall FFXI for some reason you'll still get the same effect. Square has all your info on their servers so all you need to supply is your account details and you're in. It's like Hotmail, no matter what PC you use, if you put in your username and password you can check your email. So no matter what PS2 or what connection type you use (cable, dsl, etc) you'll still get to access your account. |

Pretty much vissione is right. You just have to get your ISP straight when you move.

vissione is actually spot on, doesnt matter where u start ur account from, But i reckon you'll have to keep it on the same platform, no switching between ps2 and pc. As the cd's are different obviously
