Tactical Point-

It's used for weapon skills and once it is at a certain amount you can use a skill, along with the added TP being added to certain bonuses, such as extra dmg, etc. Not a great definition though.

Somewhat. You get to use a special attack when you fill it. So yes, It is a break limit guage.

[EDIT]
Weapon Skills are useful in Final Fantasy XI.
But Weapon Skills are only for combat.
Every weapon has different Weapon Skills.
To use a Weapon Skill your TP (Tactical Points) gauge has to be over 100%.
Read more about TP at the TP section (19.1.).

====================
21.1.TP (TACTICAL POINTS)
====================
To use a Weapon Skill, your TP gauge has to be 100%.
In other Final Fantasy games, you have a "Overdrive" (FFX)
or "Limit Break" (FFVII), and in Final Fantasy XI you have a
TP gauge.
The gauge will increase by getting hitted by enemies.
The gauge can go up to 300%, the higher the gauge gives more damage to
the target. But sometimes you will get added effects instead of more damage,
this depends on which weapon you are using.
But if you wait to long, the gauge will decrease.

The easiest way i explain to people is to think of it as a "SUPER BAR" in fighting games. It allows you to use your "Special" (Weapon Skill) when the bar reach 100%+ , there is max of 300% (like three built up super bars in the fighting games)
