How would anyone know you are married anyway? Is there some sort of indicator that doesn't go away that shows who you are married to?

What's the big deal here? I'm not sure how that system works, or what people really get out of it in terms of recognition. I have never seen anyone in game that looked like they might be married to another character.

there's no public indication as to who's married in-game or not, w/ maybe the sole exception being the rings that only married couples can get. (of course, which r RARE and EX.)

and there's no advantages nor disadvantages for married characters in game. but u know the same is true for the real-world couples, maybe except "married couples discount" if any.

it's just a way to celebrate the "bindings," whether that's for real world or just in-game. if u still don't understand that... well, what can i say?

On my Server about the only reason I've seen so far that anyone gets married is because the female character wants the wedding dress equipment. That usually seems about it.
