Hey guys, just wondering if anyone knows the fastest route to Windhurst from Sandoria. I've got a buddy who recently started and needs some help but his based at windhurst and now i have to haul my butt all the way over there . i'm wandering all over the place and i have no idea if i'm even getting close. Is it even possible for a lvl 9 warrior to make it? could a mage to teleport me instead?

You'll need the tahrongi (mea) gate crystal in order for the mage to teleport you to the crag nearest to windurst. Yes the trip is long, but get used to it, because there will be MANY MANY long trips to come. Yes you can go there at lvl 9, but you might want some higher lvl help to escort you over there. Without an airship and without a teleport, there is only two ways to get to windurst from sandoria:

Sandoria > west ronafeur > la thiene > valkrum > selbina > boat > mhuara > bubumiru > tahrongi > east sarutarubuta > windurst

or

Sandoria > west ronafeur > la thiene > jugner > batallia > jeuno > sarumouge > meriphautaud > tahrongi > east sarutarubuta > windurst.

I think as a lvl 9, you should choose the first path since the second path requires a chocobo to make the trip short. The second path includes a lot of areas where enemies around can kill you in 1 or 2 hits. These are: jugner, batallia, sarumouge, and meriphautaud.

In the first path, valkrum, and bubumiru should be the only 2 you should be extra cautious about. Maybe sometimes on the boat too since an NM named sea horror sometimes appear on deck. That thing can kill you 10 times over with one hit.

Yes thats the way to go, i would suggest to bind everywhere you can and do the trip with some time and as a lvl 1 (change job). If you get agro you are dead anyway. And if you bind evertime you can it may be a little longer trip but its less painfull (exp wise).

I usually save up some horrible task to do whilst I am on the boat.

This might be cleaning the bathroom or doing the washing up, sorting out my ironing or even something small like eating food whihc I haven't done for the last 12 hours. Alternativly you could fish on the boat raising your fishing skill.

Other than that all I can suggest to help you a little bit is to find somebody who is going to the same place as you and type /follow TheirName and watch TV instead. They will then run to the zone and you don't have to do anything and can occupy yourself elsewhere.

Then there is the GOB Express. Set homepoint in Windy. Go to somewhere else and leave you homepoint in Windy. Do what you want to do and then change to a level 1 job and die. You then re-spawn in Windy for free, in an instance and you loose no EXP.
