Question Is it worth $500,000 to buy a airship pass?

I'm a big soloest, so I level very slowly. I'm only at level 24, and was wonder if it is worth paying $500,000 for a airship pass, because I have the money, but don't know if i should spend it on something which could be free later in the game. The reason being as I already said, by the time I'm strong enough to get the pass, on my own, it will be summer time already.

Thank you for your time, and any help you can provide.

Damn I'm more than double your level and I barely have 10% of 500k :D

So uh, what you do is not buy the airship pass, and give the 500k to me instead.

But seriously, the airship pass is most certainly not worth 500k. Spend your gil on other stuff, and just wait til you get m10 done for it.

In the meantime PM me and tell me how you make all your money kthx.

Not a chance... long before you get 500k to spare, you should complete the rank 5 mission (even though it is long and a pain). The reward for this mission is an airship pass, 10k, and of course... rank 5. Did it this weekend (full alliance, LVL 30-45) and here's how it worked for us.

Split into two teams in Beadeaux. Smaller one camped the first NM near the entrance, and the larger went past the Mute and Curse machines to camp the much more difficult of the two. Two hours later, we all had items, and went back to Jeuno.

Davoi's a joke... bum rush the lvl 50'ish Orcs guarding the entrance, warp back to Jeuno... now the fun one.

That friggin castle took forever 'cause our team didn't know where to go. We had a bunch of lowbies so we aggro'd everything (although with a full alliance each kill took < 20 sec... in the early places anyway). By the time we got close we were aggro'ing way too much, and got a death. It would be much easier to sneak/invis, but you can't do that with a full alliance (too many people losing they're buffs too often). So we dealt with it.

Unhappy

Thank you for the advice given to my question everyone, but I need to ask that people please stop emailing me about how I can make $500,000 so easily. The reason is that the secret is known only to a handful of people in my server, and as more know about it, I will make less money. Don't get me wrong its still great, but my returns in the last month have been cut in half, due to the fact more people know about it. So I can't tell anyone about it, because if just ten more people here about it on my server, it could ruin something great for me. Sorry.

My only advice to anyone out there, is that they look for items, worth nothing in one city, and worth thousands more in another. You can make a clean 10000+ on some sales, by selling in another city, just find someone from another city, and make an agreement to trade items with them.

That's your "secret?" Don't worry about letting that one out of the bag, dude. Plenty of people already know about it...

he also mentions the fact that he loves to solo. Personally, I know my life will end in RL, and I would like to make the most of it, even if that means make the most of it virtually. I rather not spend 5 years to lvl to 50 by soloing, other than with bst.

His "big" secret to earning money is not very profitable, but if you're frugal, and you got time on your hand, you can collect 500k, but it won't be easily earned. As for me, I've farmed well over 500k in 3 weeks, but I pour most of it into updated equip, food, quests, and guilding. I much rather farm than travel all the time with only 7 ah slots spare for junk that you might only get 1k profit out of.

To farm 500k in three weeks, you need to have a certain level. The trading way to make gil can be done at level 1.

Obviously if you try to import/export with just 1 character, traveling from city to city, your profits will be low. But if you have 3 characters (cost you an additional $2/month), you have 21 AH slots, and item transfer is done by delivery box, with no time needed for trading.

"Only 1k profit", I don't think so. I recently bought Refresh scrolls in Jeuno at 3.7k apiece, and sold one each in the 3 starting cities for 10k apiece. Thats 20k profit by using only 3 AH slots. And this is only one of many possible examples. You can trust people to be lazy and prefer paying twice the money in the city they are in before traveling somewhere else. Thank you, Square, for making traveling such a bore.
