loading ffXI

When i load disc 1 i would get to 23% done but then something just goes wrong

I really need some help. My computer has all the required components. but it just load..

PLEASE HELP

any information will help

Hi.

You could try.

Run a disk checker on your HDD. It may come across a cross-linked file or something.

Do a surface scan on your HDD, it may show up corrupt sectors.

Intsall it on somebody elses machine. If it dies at the same point then it is the source CDs. Take it back to where you purchased it and ask for a replacement.

I haven't tried it with FFXI, but you could try to copy all the files from all 5 CD to one temporary directory of your hard disk and then start the setup program from there.

To me it looks like a read error on your CD. Have you checked the surface for visible scratches or fingerprints? Anyway, if you can't copy CD 1 to your hard disk, then you know its a CD error.

I had the exact same problem. Turns out I had a defective copy. Your gonna go have to exchange for a different copy
