This is driving me crazy!!!!

My lvl is high enough to have a sub job....im doing the Selbina quest right now....i have the damselfly worm and the Crab apron....all I need now is the Magicked Skull from the ghouls in Valkrum dunes. Can anyone tell me anywhere better to get the magicked skull other then Gusgen mines....I had a lvl 40 white mage to help me kill all the ghouls in gusgen....but out of 100 ghouls... (literally) I did not even get one damn skull....and this is soo frustrating....i tried fighting ghouls in valkrum at night but there would only be a few ghouls if im lucky....can anyone help me out?

I would suggest maybe trying to party with 1 or 2x THF with Treasure Hunter. I remember when I was hunting for my sub-job items (we did Ghouls in Valkurm, in the area west of Selbina) our party (with 2x THF) found 7 Skulls off of 8 Ghouls. So just keep at it and I'm sure you will get your skull soon. Happy Hunting.

I'm surprised you didn't find some quicker in Gusgen. I had a 56 PLD go and get 5 skulls for the party in 15 min.

Shakrami maze is a bit far away but the ghouls there also drop skulls. Best of all they have very specific spawn spots (in the little bone huts) so they are easy to find and camp.

Ive had friends with similar problem and i tell them all the same thing. Lvl a Thief up or get one and hunt with that. Shouldnt take long to lvl one yourself or find one wholl help. I myself wouldnt go with gusgen. Every time i try there with or without a Thief i cant seem to get one. First Ghoul in Selbina i got mine. But trust me with the Thief. Its a good idea to keep thief lvl up too especially when going hunting for rare items (i.e. NM's and such).
