Ive alreaedy installed FFXI, but now i am trying to reinstall it. I unistalled everything. Reinstalled PlayOnline. The problem im having is when i try to install FFXI it says: ERROR 1305: Error reading from file C:/Programfiles/playonline/square enix/final fantasy XI/mov/mov999.pmv. Verify that the file exists and that you can acces it. So does anyone know what the hell this means and how I can fix it? :dead:

that means you're missing a .pov file (note the file extnesion at the end of the path). Try restarting your computer, then booting FFXI, if you have already done that, try searching for that .pov file on the cd (open my computer -> right click your cd-rom drive that has the FFXI cd in it -> click the "explore" option) . then search the foldiers for that .pov file. if that fails go to start -> search -> click the option (if your running xp) that says "All Files and Folders" and make sure you're searching the C:\ Hard drive, and type in *.pov and it should search through the files on your C:\ Drive. if that file you're missing "mov999.pov" shows up right click on the file, hit the copy option and then paste it where its missing (C:/Programfiles/playonline/square enix/final fantasy XI/mov/paste here, in this sub directory ) if your computer fails to find the file all together then you'll have to reinstall FFXI. hope that helps |

yea but the FFXI folder is already gone. I found the file i needed but i cant put it anywhere because the folder is no more (i uninstalled the game). So ive tried to make that folder then throw that thing in there but it says cant have two files with the same name. Ok so i try to delete the other one. Says it cant delete something that is being used (this is the part where i am reinstalling FFXI so it is being worked on). I dont know what to do really.

I had the exact same error. Do you have more than one DVD/CD Drive? If so, when it asks you to switch CDs, put the requested CD in the other drive. Fixed it right up for me... |
