Catchin Monsters (Fishing)

So I toss my fishing line into one of the pond's in Palborough mines... Im level 8 and i catch a Snipper thats level 25ish (i think). It goes on a rampage kills my party, another party, and I imagine it eventually got taken down.

Fishing in another pond in a different locale i catch a different crab, I beat the tar out of it life is good. I try to catch another one and i can't catch another monster there for 30 min-1 hr after killing it.

Now the question:

Do monsters that are in fishing locations when killed drop rare items/equipment?

The reason I was wondering was the 1 hr+ time it takes to respawn one, and the fact that ive seen monsters in one area drop junk, and one area over and that monster drops stat rings. Anyone ever had unusual drops resulting from "Fishing Out" a monster?

I know there's a quest involving fishing for some monster on the ship and killing it for an item. I don't know if you can fish for any special monsters that give you special items. I think you just catch them so you can get murdered and not fish in the good spots anymore. :spin:

yeah watch out fishing on boat from selbina to mhuara pirate pugils at lvl 12 are a pain in the but. death to everyone if the fool runs in ship lol and now high lvl to kill it. Port side had 13 dead when arrived.

I fished there for awhile and I haven't caught any monsters. I only caught one and it was a land crab in Wadi.

I did read about people fishing and happen to fish up a monster mmm I guess I better not be fishing untill my Elvaan is high leveled and has a high level party to help me battle the monster

Most of the time you will only encounter monsters in "Special" areas like a pond in wadi or the river inside of Palborough mines. Generally speaking rivers & oceans are safe, but the further from town you get, gernerally the more dangerous.

Wadi Pond's Land Crab was about lvl 8-9

The Snipper in Palborough Mines is lvl 20-25

Those are the only two ive caught.

I was on a boat and I saw things like a Phantom it was pretty cool.

Oh yeah and for those who heard about the "Sabaki + Fastwater = Never break..." nuh uh... Theres a big fish in the docks section of Bastok that will bite and break that rod when fishing a sabaki.
