Hmmm.....
Just to clear something up that I never understood.

Does FFXI make you loose exp when you die like other MMORPGs?
I assume it does, because twisted genius said "your character level will not permanently go down unless you die alot."

But, does you level actually go down if you die alot, or just your exp for that level, like other MMORPGs?

Also, is there a "place" where you can check in, so if you die you can go back there, keeping the exp you gained up until you checked in there last?
There was something like this in anarchy online.

Thanks alot for clearing this up.
I haven't seen anything about this yet.

If you do this you will only lose about 2.5% of the experience needed to get to your next level.
So this clears up alot I guess. lol

I take it that you can't loose a level if you always go back to town.
And I guess those floating crystals are where you decide where your home point will be.

I was wondering is there a major differnce between the PC version and the PS2 version. As far as speed of gameplay and Graphics are concerned, because i don't wanna spend 600$ to build a new comp but if it would be better to ill do it.

When this Sob gunna come to NA.

The differences between the PS2 and PC versions depend a lot on how good your PC is. The graphic of the PC version can be a whole lot smoother and better looking or they can be just about the same as the PS2 version. Also there is some kind of bonus animation for spells in the PC version, but only if you have a certain kind of graphic card (I think it's a GeForce 4).

I got 3943 on that test. And you only needed 1500. My computer must be good enough.

First off, I'm new here, nice to meet you all.

I've already read the whole FFXI information from "Twisted Jenius", but I still have one question just to get sure.

It's about the "World Pass". When I'm in the possession of a world pass, can I really move my character with all the information, and his items on another server where I would like to play with my friends, or do I have to make a new character after I switched servers?

Maybe you have already explained everything in your post, but you must now I'm the uncertain (do you say uncertain?) type of a guy and just want to get sure before im going to buy the US version of FFXI.

ps.

I'm from germany, so please excuse my incorrect spelling.

Nathan, your spelling is better than most of the Americans that post on here!

And to answer you question about the world pass, I believe the answer is "no" you cannot transfer your "leveled up" character over to another server. To even get a world pass to work you have to input the code for it at the "character creation" screen. I hope this helped you and welcome to ffxionline.

I have another question.

How many "Advanced Job's" can you get? Can you make, as an example, a Quest to get "Dark Knight", and then later make another Quest to become a "Paladin"?

So with other words, that you can have the Dark Knight as your Main-Job, and have Paladin attached as your Sub-Job in your Mog-house?

I ask this because I thought about getting a Ninja with Summoner as a Support-Job. To have Ifrit as a backup defense would be nice.

If this is not possible, please tell me.

Thanks in advance.

You can get all of the advanced jobs if you want, and I'm sure a lot of people will (including me). You just need to the advanced job quest for each job. After you do one of those quests; that job will always be available to you at your mog house. And you can equip any main and support job you want, as long as it's at your mog house.

And sorry if you asked some questions before and I never answered you. Before my last post I hadn't check this forum for a week or more (that's why I'm not a mod).

Thanks for the confirmation about the Advanced Job's.

And no big deal, this is just my second question so far. My first question got answered by Flawless Cowboy.

So, all I have to do now is learn a bit japanese, buy a Geforce 4 Ti, or better a whole new PC, and then buy in April FFXI together with the Add-on.

Oh, and btw nice work that you've done. That's the best collection of information about FFXI that I've seen so far.

PS.

Like I already said in my first post. I'm from Germany and my spelling, how would you say, sucks. If you see a few words spelled wrong, or incorrect word orders, let me know.
