Once again, another alternative to Bablefish (using a Japanese interface):
Excite エã‚_サイト 翻訳 : 英語翻訳 [Excite excitement Translation : English translation]

Please be sure to select 日 -> 英 for Japanese (日本語) to English (英語). You can also exercise the option to translate whole webpages, but make sure you select 日 -> 英.

Also, these two Japanese sites I have stumbled across (from somewhere):

eLeMeN - FINAL FANTASY XI DATABASE

The first one is a rather complete list (database), but can require some Japanese skill. This also features a link to a translator to translate the page into English, Korean, or Chinese

The second one, by far, is the most beautiful Final Fantasy XI Database I have seen, including a Flash calendar, "Battle Database" (including spells, job abilities, etc.; this is the second option on the left), and a rating of jobs with their HP, MP, AGI, etc. Unfortunately, because it is beautifully crafted using Flash, it cannot be translated using conventional HTML translators (pretty much the occasional English - Japanese human translator). It even features a cute game using Tarus called "/poke."

The first and to date biggest European fan zone and I've quite a few guides now - The forum is pretty dead though unfortunately - I hope this will change when the game gets release in Europe in September

Thanks so much! That map sure is helping me out as a newbie adventurer in FFXI. There are so many useful links here! You guys are cool!

As for my link, I'm sure everyone's already seen these, and they're not quite useful per se but:
