I have the ex baits that I have obtained from several Pirate's Charts. Just wanting to know if I need to be turning in guild items right now.

But first - u need to get these key items Serpent Rumors (95 000 guild points, available from Adept status - fishing 78+)
You need Serpent Rumors to:
- trigger Irmilant quest (Indomitable Spirit)
taken from http://www.titanictus.com/viewtopic.php?t=753 - Fish many Gugrusaurus (ferry, with Drill Calamary) and Lik (Lufaise Meadows (lagoon) with Dwarf Pugil)
- Trade Gugrusaurus / Lik to Zaldon to get Opal Silk / Saber Shoot

And you don't need EX baits anymore. Don't even bother to get mooching. Get rumor, get penguin and albatross ring. Get up to 95 skill and use those rings to catch gugrusaurus and lik.
Lik bites minnow
Gugrusaurus bites meatball.
You need both rings if you want to pull them up reliably.
