big NM fish on boat to expansion port - Final Fantasy XI :: Dreams in Vana'diel :: Community

anyone know anything about that big NM fish that is reeled up on way to expansion area

I have killed it once but no drop (had some help 1st time as didnt know how tuff it was). But 2nd time I ran out of time soloing it as the boat docked >< (will manafont next time maybe)

someone tell me it drop an item, but i dont believe they were 100%

anyone got any further infos?

The Orobon? It's about level 70 according to somepage and drops Orobon Lure, which is used to craft the Strobe puppet attachment that casts Provoke.

I think it has an AoE critical damage attack triggered by any meleeing at it's tail. But I'm not completely sure on that.. Sometimes I fight it and no one gets hurt though.

I remember seeing that fish about 7 times on my first trip to Aht Urhgan. People would fish it up and kill it really quick. Thanks for the info on why they were doing that so much.
