Re: Devil Mantis

Try the Composite Rod + Little Worms (which you can purchase for ~4 gil from any of the merchants listed here) and cancel all catches followed by a single exclamation mark (monsters are always "Something caught the hook!!!" <--- 3 exclamation marks).

Re: Devil Mantis

yup still drops angel skin...

only problem is pop rate seems to be effected by the number of monsters you kill to make devil manta pop.

If you are solo this then if can take a lot of time (or luck) to get the manta to pop. If you make a PT of 4 then the money from the skin is divide by 4 (1.5M/4 on my server) which makes not so great gilz.

Also on my server a bunch of chinese RMT do this between other stuffs.

Re: Devil Mantis

and a bunch of american people pay for it. -.-

i believe from the patch notes, it said you would fatigue faster from reeling in mobs.. not too sure how true it is (so far it seems you can reel in a lot more fish before hitting fatigue, but we're talking about mobs ><;...)

Re: Devil Mantis

Can anyone confirm that these are still catchable in Cape Terrigan since the Update?

Update notes:

Players will now occasionally accumulate fatigue after fishing up an item rather than a fish. Fatigue will be most noticeable after fishing up the following:
coral fragment/rusty cap/rusty pick/devil manta
An issue regarding devil mantas on Cape Teriggan has been fixed.

And if so, what was the fix?

Re: Devil Mantis

i heard they had a better drop rate at one time. i knwo for a fact you can still fish them up. but my buddies an i agree, kuftal tunnel is the better place. we seem to get lucky there more then we did in the cape.

Re: Devil Mantis

i was fishing in cape for like 4 hours and no devil manta, alternated between composite rod and shrimp lure/sinking minnow. could it have been the bait or does the pop rate on these really just suck now? i noticed the price doubled after the update.. so i'm leaning more towards the pop rate

Re: Devil Mantis

pop rate is the same as far as i can tell (had 2 pop inside 20 mins about a week ago)

The pop rate can be very slow if you are there solo tho. Usually when I have gone there, have competed against RMT and there is a lot of mobs getting pulled up and seems to pop quite quickly.

I have gone there and been alone before and no pop in 2 hours+. Best to go with a small PT in my opinion. angel skin was 2.5M last time i checked. This would be nice solo, but could be in for an extreme wait for pop and drop.... best to take a couple of friends that know the basics of fishing.
