Being new to the game ive still got alot to learn, I am asking here if FISHING can make good money for a low lvl. I allways seem to only be able to catch Moat carps, I know this is due to being a "newbie" but I was curious wether if I was to perservere and level up my fishing skill to catch some better fish, Are they good money? also i notice that the bait is costing more than i can make off a moat carp catch, But im guessing this is just because every craft in every MMORPG requires some perserverence and some cash to make money from it.
Hope to get a reply, Thanks in advance | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 11-26-2005, 02:36 AM | #2 (permalink) | | J...atatouille Super Moderator Join Date: Dec 2002 Posts: 8,338 Style: Light - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 5 Thanked 136x in 106 Posts Gil: 25,980 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 25,980 Donate | Re: Hey, Was just curious fishing is really good if you know what to catch.
Moat carps are a good start. Sells fast, very good price and easy to catch. They can acutally support you for quite a long time ^^ Unless you want to work for Lu Shang. (a quest requiring you to trade 10k carps)
Some higher level fish can sell for a really good price. Some are even very easy to catch like shall shells and nebimonites. Check the Jeuno auction house for these fish price and see for your self. They are easy enough that you can catch without having much skill too. They don't bite every catch like moat carps tho so you will have to take your time to catch them. transform a yellow spot into the sun.

If you do the math, you'd know what I'm talking about. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 11-27-2005, 11:22 PM | #4 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: Bastok! So fishing can be a pretty good money maker? I guess with all these posts i have on making money, is what craft can start netting a profit pretty quickly? Fishing sounds nice, but blacksmithing seems like it will never bring back big returns...is fishing a craft that could bring back large returns? I wanna play!!! | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 01-09-2006, 06:29 PM | #6 (permalink) | | Senior Member Brain of Knowledge Join Date: Nov 2005 Location: Florida Posts: 1,128 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 14 Thanked 11x in 11 Posts Gil: 2,021 Bank: 124,098 Total Gil: 126,119 Donate | Re: Hey, Was just curious fishing is something that can bring you large quantities of gil as long as you know what to fish. my suggestion is start in fresh water with either little worms or insect paste and fish up moat carps. stacks of moat carps make real good starting money. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 01-09-2006, 06:47 PM | #7 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Jan 2006 Location: Thorndike, ME Posts: 61 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 1 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 2,371 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 2,371 Donate | Re: Hey, Was just curious What would a stack of these moat carps sell for? And how long do you think it would take to farm that much fish? It doesnt take long at all to build up these stacks if you use insect paste. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 01-09-2006, 08:06 PM | #9 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Posts: 193 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 2x in 2 Posts Gil: 1,372 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 1,372 Donate | Re: Hey, Was just curious also a good way to go is to lvl your cooking with your fishing to make your own bait, and then you can also cook some of the stuff you will get from other misc drops. My LS leader did this for about 50lvls of her fishing and cooking (she later just when ahead and now as a 90 somthing cooking, but still only a 50 somethign fishing). But yeah know what to fish, and remember fishing does take time.
