Re: More XIV stuffs (interviews etc)

Well the guy didn't outright say "no" to new races, just "Not at this time" to new genders. With races, he just said he wasn't able to comment on it yet.

That and the 4th City-state give me a reason to believe there will be more races during beta or at launch.

I'm still of the opinion unless a female Rog would look vastly different from the "male" it wouldn't be pretty... and believe me, you don't ever want to see Galka porn (damn Neko-Sentai....)

There is never a demand if, there is no product, or even an hnt at a possible product. I am just saying haha... If they do not build it, no one will come.

With Mico'te it might be the same, and there is also just that it was the status quo in FFXI, and they only reused the races to let people make identical characters so why put forth the effort, eh?

The male need not automatically be a hulk. That's what has me interested in male Miqo'te; they could be a less bulky male. And female Roegadyn could be the hulking, or amazonian, female.

Snoo snoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On topic: Sayin no to female Roegadyn on the assumption that they will resemble their male counter parts is kinda dumb, I mean hell, Malacite, you bring up Lekho Habhoka, when that little shit looks like a dykish mithra, nothing remotely "manly" about him. Hell, I first thought he was a mithra until the mummy-taru dude said "he" >.>

Honestly, I think there is females, but they're so manly you can't tell the difference.

:-O

Cool, we will be bitching at gimps who only bother to procure skillup gear.

While on our epic knitting quest.

This is perhaps the most interesting detail so far with regards to the armoury system.

So we can effectively get gear to modify skill progression, and presumably other factors in relation to our skills? Holy crap, this is the equivalent of having +EXP armor in XI...

Re: More XIV stuffs (interviews etc)

It seems interesting so far. We need Beta already.

And it's looking more and more like that License/Dressphere hybrid I was talking about the other day.

Re: More XIV stuffs (interviews etc)

they only mean gear paths like the selection of gear Jobs in FFXI have as they level up based on the tiers of gear depending on the different skill levels out there.

You don't "have" to wear the next set of gear, you can just ignore it and equip the next tier of gear when your skill is high enough.

It's kind of like people might get Scale Armor, but might skip the Lizard armor stuff and stick with the Scale mail until they are able to equip Beetle armor. then Chainmail when they get out of Quifim, etc.

also they said there is "all-purpose gear" so there will be more variety of things to equip.
