I know there are a few Linkshells in the works for FF14 and all but a few are "end game ready" or "gonna be the best". Honestly, me and my friends hate this idea. Why the hell would you want to join a community of friends that is already geared towards that? So, my friends and I from the Midgardsormr server are making a Linkshell that will be dedicated for social purposes only.

Everyone involved in this has done a lot of research on FF14 and has read the storyline that was released not to long ago. The name "Servants of the Twelve" is a direct take off the storyline. There are 12 Gods and Godesses, each from different regions around the world. Thus, this name allows us to unify all races into 1 community.

In the first few weeks, we plan on doing alot of exploring, adventuring, questing, and all around ... find out what makes the game work. After that, continue to pass along the knowledge while helping new players (whether you are or are not in our LS). We want an adult, mature atmosphere... anyone who is greedy and not willing to be apart of the family can find some other LS to join.

With that in mind -- We are starting up.
Trying to pull together all of our resources.

I'd like to say I'd join but if my family decides to play we all have to agree on where to go. I don't know if hubby is going to play again. He expressed that he's quite happy to "not be a slave to a video game" at this time. LOL I know my son will absolutely try it out though.

Isn't it still kinda early? The game won't be out at the very least until next summer, which is almost a year.

If you organize early, you can get together on Ventrillo and/or play other online games together in order get to know one another. You can also keep the lines open for beta accounts so that if someone in your group gets 2 they can share with others in the group. It may be a tad early but many times the early organized groups get into the game and get stuff done.

Ah, I remember joining Windurst Liberation Army (WLA) and Glorious Alliance about 1-2 years before FFXI was released. It was a lot of fun posting around the forums! Made quite a few friends that I still talk to today; one that is pretty much my best friend now (Ouch on Midgardsormr).

However, since I will be playing Aion for awhile until FFXIV comes out, I don't think I'll join any guilds. Good luck Spazz!

Good Luck with your FFXIV linkshell. Me and my linkshell (Rise of the Bastet), will be switching to FFXIV, and making out own as soon as possible so we can stay connected with each other. Just hope there is an alexander server again lol

Ya, in the beginning of FFXI, I was apart of a linkshell called Legacy. And the leader basically said, "Ok, whatever server I end up on... yall just try to remake your character over and over and over to try and get on that same server." It was a pain in the ass but we made do.

I have been telling people all night this, so if you read it... please take it into consideration...

"S12 is not "recruiting" because we lack members or because we want to be huge. We simply want to make sure that everyone who starts FF14 has friends and a community to be a part of. We have people who already said they want in, but that after there friends get on they are going with them. That is perfectly fine."

Just keep in mind... we dont have applications to join... there is no survey to fill out... If you want in, just say so and your in! No one should take their first steps into a whole new world without friends.

This. I hated the randomness that was getting a server before, thankfully I ended up on Quetz because a friend of mine purchased a world pass for me so I could play with him. Me and several friends want to end up on the same server so we can better coordinate our efforts and such.

Yeah we had to do the delete remake thing too.. But then they fixed it where you couldn't do that.

Yeah, after talking with a few of the founding people of the LS, we are going to be dedicating vast majority of our gil to helping people who want on our server. We will be buying worldpasses (if they have them at start), and distributing them upon request. There should be no reason why you cant play with friends ^^.

You and your friends are more than welcome to join us at launch to get a feel for the game and then from there yall can start your own if you wish. Some of the group so far are planning on doing this. FFXIV is the destination... we consider S12 to the be vessel on which we get all get there.

Out of all the info asked and answered.. No one asked if there will be random sever picks like last time. But the capacity on the server is pretty high I would guess. I think WoW holds 1-2k per server and they said they're wanting to do 2-3k right?

Yeah, me and a friend were discussing this, and we both agree that SE learned from the whole random server assignment thing that it would be a bad idea since theres already many people who wanna stick together when they transition to FFXIV.

Yeah when I read that they were gonna allow FFXI LS's to transfer their names or whatever to XIV I was thinking hopefully that means no random server pick.

I come to yall now asking for help...

I have come up with some basic designs as to how our LS website is to look but I currently do not have the resources to get it up and running and put together. These are the designs I have...



Basically... when you get to the website, you see the cards. You mouse over them and the cards darken and words display over the card that tells the visitor what page the card leads to.



After you have clicked on the card, it leads you to a page where the card has expanded and is shown bigger on the left hand side with the text field on the right. The text will scroll up and down with the bottom of the text field faded into the background. The cards have been relocated to the top right of the screen for navigation through the rest of the website.

I do not have the resources to build this at the time so I was wondering if anyone here could help me out with it. I can create the cards, provide any information needed, etc. I just need help actually putting it all together and into a working format so that I can upload it and host it.
