Lalafell (such a kawaii race name! =^^= )



Hyuran (very cool title for human types!)



um, haven't found the Mithra/Elvaan type scans/translations yet.


there are 4 categories of Jobs: Fighter, Sorceror, Crafter and Gatherer

8 Jobs known so far in each category:

Fighter: swordsman, archer
Sorcerer: enchanter, warlock
Crafter: blacksmith, cook
Gatherer: gardener, fisherman

Why would they bother changing the names of the races when they're clearly carbon copies of FFXI?

Because it's not Vana'diel? Besides, the Galka look 20% less ugly and dumb, and the Tarutaru don't look nearly as kickable.

Galka are looking a LOT better now, but I'm not so sure about the Tarus. They seem too big!

If I play XIV I will definitely go back to Hume, they look great. Also, that BLM or whatever looks BAD. ASS. Visible capes/robes YES PLZ.

Why not just go with the old names and save yourself the trouble. Heck, Chocobos have been called Chocobos since the dawn of time.

People who haven't Played FFXI, who will be playing FFXIV... Yes.

Some of the Names are REALLY hard to pronounce though. :/

Also, judging by the headshot, FFXIV Mithra looks like a hume with cat ear accessories.

The characters, generally speaking, look lower quality (design speaking; they look dopey, loosely artistic) than FFXI ones, with the obvious exception of Galka. The ONE thing I can hope for is that they look like shit because FF14 is getting a robust character creator.

Moogles are Moogles, goblins are goblins, Chocobo are chocobo, why would they change the damn race name if they're obviously exactly the same? Still, they do look beautiful... and they female Elvaan doesn't look so manly and gross now.

IF I can finagle a way to play this game, I really don't know which I'd like to be... they really all look so good. But yes... the race names will either take some getting used to ... or simply blown outta the water by a community that loves the old ways.

... me likes the TaruT... er, I mean Lalafel.

Galka look sweet though... and male humes don't look so girlie/emo ... er, well... yet ... elf lady is hot... don't really like the male counterpart though... main thing with the elves is running animation that is less awkward.

... guess we'll have to keep lifting them tails to check. Don't need any "Cryin' Game" scenarios in FFxiv. Though they are rather humorous.
