You and your SeeD job. Have you even laid out what it would be like? Isn't SeeD just a rank in a game with no jobs?

Shhhhhhhhhhh.

Do you really want to hear him propose a way to convert a plot element into a gameplay class?

I was talking about getting gil for campaign services the same way SeeDs get a salary according to their rank. But if you want me to explain how I think the job would work I have some (a lot of) ideas about that as well.

nono... thats ok

its funny though people keep talking like FFXIV is going to have all the things FFXI has at its "end" when SE already said the two games will be completely different -.-

Re: E3 2009: FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Coming in 2010

I love SeeD uniforms. I even like the navy blue Garden uniforms!

they are a FF8 staple, though and very overpowered by mmorpg standards. they are basically a hybrid of SMN, WAR,
DRK, WHM, RDM, PLD, THF, COR, etc. etc.

I always wanted a mmorpg based on FF8's world and Gardens and SeeD graduation and stuff and could deal with new evil sorceresses from another dimension. Garden is the coolest academy of all existence!!!!!!! ^___________^

but ya anyways

FFXIV will finally bring the community together!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ^____________^

I remember a quote from someone in FFXI, especially what's ongoing now:

"I am currently on ffxi everyday and have 2 lvl 75 jobs and still feel lonely. It's funny that getting one job to level 75 barely gets your foot in the door. Most linkshells won't even recruit you if you don't have two level 75's. And then if you don't have sea or salvage access -- you'll get to here about how awesome they are at least lol.

Nonetheless, I paid the price of belonging and got sea and salvage access and 2 level 75 jobs all in about 4 months. Only to find that most linkshells are really just cliques of elitists who have no desire whatsoever to help you but are really just using you to farm ancient currency and to gear up a few select leaders in the shell who have about 2-3 times the dkp as all the other members.

I am currently looking for mature friends who feel as I do, that "together" is a forgotten term in ffxi.

I agree that FFXIV will provide a new opportunity for people to truly work together. Knox has started the ball rolling and I personally sent him a pm. The only problem I see down the road is a complete lack of loyalty. Not only will just about anybody say they "want to join" but most won't stay with a single group for more than a month."

but ya, it will great to experience the GOLDEN AGE of FFXIV, which will be the first weeks, months.

Re: E3 2009: FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Coming in 2010

SeeD uniforms ftw, it would be the most awesome AF ever.

For SeeD in XI I had the idea of a Gunblade specialist type of SeeD, but more heavily focused on GF Summon/Junction/Draw skills (zero MP involved) and less focused on melee skills but still tweakable enough to work either way.

It would be pretty neat if XIV had something like that.

ya! it would make the other jobs look pathetic, though. Garden and SeeD deserve its own state of the art mmorpg. :D

Re: E3 2009: FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Coming in 2010

I suppose there is room for a job that draws their power from enemies, sort of like a BLU but instead of using MP they'd have a limited number of casts before they needed to replenish their magic. Could be something interesting to pull off.

But.. eh?... hm. Doesn't really fit anywhere imo

FFVIII MMO? I'd play it.

But SeeD as a job? Rubbish. SeeD was an organization that employed multiple job classes and roles. It was a mercenary group. The closest equivalent that comes to mind is Salaheem's Sentinels.

Re: E3 2009: FINAL FANTASY XIV Online Coming in 2010

SE would probably come up with a new name, but other than that if I say "SeeD (Gunblade specialist)" you inmediately know what I'm talking about. Which is why I'm going with that.

I thought it would be pretty obvious.

Heheh, over the years I've posted a lot about an VIII MMORPG. It could be set before Trabia Garden was destroyed so you'd have 3 Gardens to choose from, lots of conflicts going around the world and lots of oportunities with Lunar Cry related stuff.

I'd like to see SeeD training and school life incorporated somehow, but that probably wouldn't sit well with western audiences.

Etc. Etc.

Too bad SE didn't go with that.
