New to FFXI but not MMO's, Looking Looking Looking.......
Hey everyone im Kero :bows: nice to meet you. Im new to FFXI, started today in fact , and im Looking for newer players as well as vet players to chill and explore. If your interested hit me up or send a PM. I live on the east coast and intend to play after the 9 to 5 grind. So id be available through most the evening and a few all nighters. Also id like to be in a active community as well but this isnt necessary, a few cool peeps would suffice.

Currently i have a char on Odin (said it was the most active online) but id be willing to play on any server.
Server is fairly irrelevant, as they are all basically the same. Most of the people on this forum are on Valefor (actually, most of the people on this forum don't play anymore) with a sprinkling of Cerb, Carbuncle, Levi, and maybe another.

Hmmm then i guess ill move to valefor just mainly want people to play with. (swtor became dead and was unfun because of it) Any suggestions for someone new like classes or race advice or anything.
Race is completely irrelevant (gear makes up for the differences in stats). Try all the classes and see what you like. I have five levelled to cap and like at least four of them, and have tried most of them to varying degrees.

also gamepad vs keyboard which plays easier?

i tried xbox couldnt handle the framerate lock. was always laggy even though i have fiber optic and god speed. lol
the main factor is what you are more comfortable with, I used a controller from day 1 and never touched a keyboard other then to talk. FFXI was designed for the PS2 first then ported over, so I guess you could say that a controller is better. But there is a new expansion coming out that will over haul the interface, and it seems to be adding a "Keyboard/mouse mode"Originally Posted by Kerorasumaru
Well even the PC version is locked at 30 FPS, it is how the game is designed, it is why no matter how good your PC is, there still seems to be some lag. The Xbox version though was ported poorly and runs like poo ;p

lol ty Kailea. Yea i believe im gonna stick with controller get too confused with the keyboard setup. But when this ui overhaul happens i may go back to mouse keyboard setup (well if its anything like WOW or SWTOR or DCUO lol ) if not ill be a sad sad panda.........
Still looking for people starting out to play with tho......
You can always change the lay out to condensed Keyboard. It may make things easier for you to play the game.
I would recommend you use it. It makes macro use a hundred times easier.

I'm resubbed and on Valefor. I have no set times but I can help you out if you can catch me on--name's Hayde on the server as well. I play on and off though, as in I would sub for a few months, take a break etc.
