my first FFXI render ^^

okay...after seeing this done for what seems like forever, I decided to have fun and make wallpapers..then I got picky and wanted to make rendered ones lol. so, I asked a few questions and somewhat got the hang of it now...still dunno how to actually add shadows or adjust lighting on the models yet...but heres what I got on my first try

I think it looks okay. I posted the pic in the topic I was asking how to do it on, but figured this is actually where it would technically belong since its a finished picture, and I dont need help on it anymore.

(picture quality was butchered since it was originally 1280x1024, and well over 1MB in size).

(now less than 200kb in comparison)

Doesnt look like they have shadows but its very nice all the same

lol thats why i said i dunno how to add shadows or adjust the lighting on the chars yet...I COULD go into photoshop and fake the shadows by adding the -oh so famous- blobs underneath lol...but..I'd rather add real shadows, when i figure it out.

ninja in the tree looks kinda silly lol but yeah intresting how you got the same armour and diffrent faces.

Yeah, the ninja in the tree kind of just looks like he's floating, but it's really not a bad start at all.

lol yeah well about the ninja >.>....in the one that I have thats like ...almost 2MB the branch hes standing on is clearly visible. as for the chars all being the same race...yeah, I threw it together in about 10 minutes so I didnt even think about the different races at the time except for the whm which i though of going taru but then was like bah too late now lol. I put the ninja up there for 2 reasons actually...1, I wanted him to seem like he was gonna jump down and kill something, and 2....there wasnt much room for anything else really...I wanted to add mobs in the front and 2 more in the back but..with the sizes I went with there just wasnt room for them and I didnt want to make them smaller because they lost enough quality in the models as it is.
