E3 is finally just around the corner. Woo!

With the new console generation underway, E3 2007 should be a blast despite its downsizing (which doesn't affect us, the consumers, that much anyhow.)

If you don't know, E3's no longer the massive noise and lights show that it once was. Conferences are now smaller and by private invite only, meaning only a select few of the press will be able to attend and provide coverage.
That doesn't prevent just as much information from being pumped out onto the interwebs for us to read however, so I'll be posting all the latest and greatest information and media here for everyone to check out and discuss.

E3 runs July 11th-13th, 2007 in Santa Monica, CA.

To kick off this year's E3 thread, here's some new screenshots and footage from the latest build of Sony Computer Entertainment and Ninja Theory's action blockbuster, Heavenly Sword. It's unconfirmed if this is the build that will be displayed and playable at E3.

Forgive the crappy quality of the video. It's impossible to make out the spectacular detail employed in this game's design, but at least it shows some pretty good footage of combat action and that freakin' awesome medieval bazooka weapon. We'll probably get better footage as E3 comes closer, which I'll update with.

Actually, it does. Companies care about reaching the people that are going to buy the product, not the people that get all their shit for free.

E3 will still have developers there, sure, but they aren't going to care as much about it or put in as much effort.

It may seem that way, Feba, but in reality, most major press sites like IGN, Gamespot and 1UP will still be there, still giving us the same coverage that we've always had. E3 has never been open to the public anyhow, so the way that you and I get information, media and news from E3 will remain the same. It's pretty much only different for members of the industry, not the consumer.

Just a quick update, here's the official boxart for the Wii's big summer title, which doesn't really have to be named, launching August 20th.

Timesplitters 4 from Free Radical, for PLAYSTATION 3.
Destroy All Humans! 3 from THQ for PSP, PlayStation 2, PLAYSTATION 3, Xbox 360, and Wii.
De Blob from THQ for Wii.

LucasArts has confirmed that they've got a working build of a Wii lightsaber tech demo which they're planning on implementing in a game.

Dark Samus wasn't killed in Metroid Prime 2: Echoes, so I'd imagine that she will return in full force in the third game. If I recall correctly, Dark Samus is an avatar controlled by Metroid Prime itself or something like that.

Apparently however, the main story of Corruption ties back more into the first game. Samus is dying because of overexposure to Phazon Radiation and has to find a way to stop it.

well, I just hope they don't go too cliche, is all.

I do hope they keep the story open enough for newcomers to understand. Lots of people who hadn't touched a nintendo console before are going to be playing that. Not to mention I can't get past that freaking ice boss in metroid prime.
