They had a demo of Heros Combat in which the Blue Mage & the Puppetmaster fought against the three heroes, Prince Trion, Minister Ajido-Marujido and Captain Volker.

Of course the GM's cheated and used GM invincible on the characters where they would not take any damage at all from anything, and they continued to slowly chip down on the three heroes. The Blue Mage showed off more spells, however the Puppetmaster seemed to not do anything but hit the enemy with fists. Her puppet died as well and she did not call out another one.

Not in the video of the BLU fighing the flan, in the official trailer (the one with Cerberus and Odin in it) that was shown (available to watch on ign) there's the BLU using Thousand Needles.

They haven't announced a release date have they?

Release date is April 18th for North America, April 20th for Europe and Japan.

Having the Chains of Promathia expansion is not required.

More like:

Blizzard something
Thunderspark
Blood Sabre
Spider Web
Spore Toss
Poisonious Oats

The first two are Avatar abilities. It seems BLU can learn magic as long as it's used as an ability by an Avatar.

No idea what the blizzard move was but I doubt they let a Blu get abilities from avatars. The thunderspark is a move raptors use though.

So is it only 3 new jobs?

They're probably leaving it at 18 jobs to encourage diverse alliances...or something...
