Better/More Frequent Events (Twinkling Treant)

I played this game right when it launched for a few months (got my DRK adv class then quit

) and there was a Christmas event that was unforgettable. I don't rembember the exact title, but it involved "Twinkling Treants" if I remember correctly. Entire servers would work together as these tree's roamed around. I believe the reward was portals at certain outposts. This was an event that I'd like to see more of, as the thrill of seeing hundreds of players fighting together was one of the most amazing gaming experiences I've ever had. I just got back into the game and would like to know if we could expect more of these types of events. I've wondered if there's been any since I left but the response I've gotten from the community seems to be there's just the same repeated "festival" events year after year.

That was like the bulls, heh, they were fun too, and I agree, more events like that! or the summer fest 2 years ago, navigating the dangerous places capped lvl 1... >=D

Those were my two favorite ones as well. The lvl 1 one was great, you got to meet new people and do something goofy and fun. The treant one was just crazy fun. It's weird that they can come up with great ones like this and the other ones are about bazarring eggs and sitting around a pond scooping fish...

Agreed re: Better events. I loved the 2003 Christmas event, as well as Summerfest 2004. Those were just awesome. If they could do stuff like that more often, I'd be more inclined to get into the events.

Well it is the truth. an besides i use to say the events were lame, an why cant we get another trent event. everyone told me to STFU. lol

I find that the new events really suck. I really miss the challenging ones like x-mas 2003 and Summer 2004.

Yeah, I've started raising a new character since then... wanted to get a Dash Sash for NIN, since alot of the low level belts aren't too good. Oh well =/

The current event is good, the fireworks for it kick ass. A lot of people don't give events a chance because they are too focused on the grind and being leet. Mind you, its the same people who will yell at anyone for saying they are leet.

Twinkling Treant event only became fun when S-E made the trees killable. Bashing on one for hours on end and nothing happening wasn't so chipper.

Can anyone tell me, if they know, what event it was where there were a bunch of birds flying around that were NPCs, and they were called "Bird of Wonder" or some crap like that? I was a newb even to the newbs, and I didn't know it was an event, but I never knew until they stopped appearing that they were not a normal thing. Can anyone tell me what that was about and if they will do it again? It was shortly after Christmas 2004, perhaps in January or February of 2005.
