It's great that they're looking out for my well-being and all, but that's my problem and I'd very much appreciate being able to outpost to the dunes at the level that I'm - you know, exping in the dunes.
Here's the big problem: I don't like having my HP in aht urgan. I don't know what possessed S-E to do the things they did with Aht Urgan. All the traffic that was in 4 zones of Jeuno, plus tons of people who used to set their HPs in their home towns for fast access to OP warps, ALL stuffed into Aht Urgan Whitegate, because it's the new convenient place to be. From AU, you can get anywhere, but there's only 2 ways back: a 20 hour olduum ring that puts you 7 minutes jog from town, and a 20 minute boat ride (and of course travel time to mhaura).
All I really want is to be able to set my HP in Norther San d'Oria again, w/out being harrassed for not having the capacity to instantly be in Whitegate. So yeah, I don't think Tele NPCs would help much (Though I think scrolls of instant tele would still be great -- you'd still need the crystal of course) but I think making Aht Urgan a little less one-sided would be nice. | Quote: | | If you're having trouble with it, I think you're just lazy or have too short an attention span. | I think you would do best to try to understand people's perspective before making these accusations... I liked having my homepoint in Sandy but it was just too much of a hassle to get back to Aht Urgan. Then I discovered that the "pay" Taru will tele you directly to your home nation. Now since I can get to Sandy so fast, it only makes sense for me to leave my homepoint in AU. I suppose if Sandy isn't your home nation, this becomes a problem. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 12-08-2006, 05:07 PM | #18 (permalink) | | Dictionary FFXIWiki Team Join Date: Jul 2004 Location: Warrior Posts: 1,651 Style: Light - Version 6 My Mood: Thanks: 147 Thanked 243x in 147 Posts Gil: 7,767 Bank: 84,559 Total Gil: 92,325 Donate | Re: Teleport NPCs. no, I'm San d'Orian, and I'm now facing the same dilema. But this comes full circle -- I'm back in overcrowded AU with a crappy computer. But more than my comp, I hate being in AU on principle that I've practically been forced to set my HP there. As for not being pestered about teleports while crafting, there is the option of hiding your information. That way you don't show on the search list and thus will only be bothered minimally if you are outside of your moghouse crafting because people can see your gear and know.
I am a lvl 61 whm and when I am crafting or busy otherwise I hide my information. Sure, I get a few tells requesting teleports but if I tell them I am busy and they don't get the message, I can /blist them temporarily and remove them later.
Have you actually tried farming as a whm? Its not as easy as you think, whm is a backline job, I would have to spend hours to get enough gil by farming that I can get doing teleports over a shorter period of time.
As for having hp in whitegate, the pay taru, will send you to Ru'Lude Gardens only at first and then after a few usages you can go to your home nation and if you have supply runs done you can OP easily to where you need to go, or catch an AS from jeuno depending upon your need.
Most parties I have been in are patient enough to give people time to get to the group or meet the group where they are planning to go so I don't think this is a real problem.
just my opinion. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 12-22-2006, 09:08 AM | #20 (permalink) | Join Date: Dec 2005 Posts: 362 Style: Light - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 154 Thanked 103x in 56 Posts Gil: 4,717 Bank: 54,586 Total Gil: 59,303 Donate | Re: Teleport NPCs. Someone mentioned Altep and Yhoat (I'll also throw in Vahzl) as difficult to get teleports to. I spent the time on those quest so that I would have those spells because they are better moneymakers because so few people have them (compared to everyone who has holla/mea/dem). When I teleport, I can get anywhere from 1-3k for one of the basic (H/M/D) Teleports, while the higher rank ones (V/A/Y) Net me on average 3-10k each. I depend on the higher ones, and on the assumption that less people have them, and because of that I can charge more for them, and I know quite a few higher leveled WHM who do the same. So I'm against this idea... yeah
