Besieged losses.

Are there any plans to fix the fact that servers can lose besieged during server downtime?

Due to reasonably high success rates in defending during besiged, the number of losses are quite few overall, this makes the amount which are happening during downtime significant. It doesn't seem fair or right that a server should lose just because of a maintainence.

Re: Besieged losses.

Well, I expect that part of the point of the changes was to give the players more of a chance to experience all parts of the Beseiged system and not just defending, which means the AC changing hands more often.

Carbuncle server's 157 win streak was finally broken yesterday when there was an area maintenance on Al Zahbi during a troll attack, which has some people upset, but I think that it's the nature of the Beseiged changes and players shouldn't expect to win over 99% of the time. Frankly such high win rates were becoming boring anyway. Free exp and imperial standing is nice, but it didn't seem like my actions really meant anything - the empire will win anyway because the empire always wins.

On the other hand, I have to admit that I didn't change my existing plans to go beat up trolls; some players might have only participated in defending Beseiged because it was right there in Al Zahbi and when it comes to getting a party/alliance together to go all the way to Halvung they might lose interest. I guess we'll have to see.

Players shouldn't expect to win over 99% of the time you are right, but they also shouldn't expect their 1 loss to come because the game was down.

If losses were more common anyway then there'd be less issue with the odd loss becuse of maintainence. If there had been 50 losses per server and one had come from maint. it'd be a bit more palatable. But if i'm correct there are several servers who have only lost during maint.

Surely to lose you should at least be beaten.

More losses would be fine, and might even make the maint losses insignifcant. But as it stands, losses due to downtime are making up a disproportionate fraction of the losses.

Re: Besieged losses.

Seraph loses our AC every other seige.

The strength of the invading army should be decided by the win:lose ratio.

Re: Besieged losses.

I agree that it kind of sucks to have a Besieged go down during server maintenance. I mean the whole basis of it requires players to participate, and without that, what's the point?

Actually, there's nothing amazing about that, I suppose.

Re: Besieged losses.

To the best of my knowledge, Lakshmi has yet to lose a Besieged. Would be nice if I could go some place and look at server "status." Something to show which country is in 1st place now and/or most often, Besieged status/record, recent Ballista results, maybe even how many people were logged in at the time those results were compiled.

Doesn't exactly help us, but would be really nice for us to just go and see. I've been curious how other servers are when it comes to the Conquest tally, or reading how some servers see a lot of Lv.3 Besieged or lose often. For me a Lv.3 Besieged hasn't happened to my knowledge since week two of the new Expansion pack. But for all I know my server sees Lv.3s all day long while I'm at work.

For all we know those servers that say they've been undefeated have actually lost several immediately following maints. I hadn't even thought about that until Karinya even mentioned it.
