AV defeated on Fairy - Final Fantasy XI :: Dreams in Vana'diel :: Community

Eden popped and beat AV today on Fairy. With help from TG, SD, and LP they were able to take him down in just over 2 hrs iirc. I believe its the fastest anyone from any server has taken AV down thus far.
Strategy was basically several DRK's using bloodweapon with Kraken club. MANY people kept going to switch to COR and coming back to refresh everyone's 2hr.

So, finally defeated on Fairy. And grats to all those who involved.

It would be nice for SE to install a "view window" so those of us who will never make it to events like that can still witness it!

sorry, but when AV can be defeated w/o useing "Goblin Footprint" or "the wall" then you can be impressed.

Ooohh... so it's a first for Fairy? Sweet. I saw someone the other day while camping VE and Gold Bat with a friend with the "Virtuous Saint" title.

Yeah this is sort of old news.

They used the footprint to buy some time to allow weakened to disappear. For whatever reason after this, AV stopped with all his spells and 2hrs, solely meleeing the entire time from what I understand.

Dunno if it was glitched, became glitched, or if they found a way to disable it's 2hrs, but atm AV seems relatively glitched with it's coding.

Doesn't AV get his 2hrs disabled by the appropiate job engaging him though? (Ie. He can't use Benediction while a WHM is engaged onto him.)

So far that's the word yeah. I think I read there was only one shell that took him down by suffering through all the misery, but had a whm engaged using jailer weapon, disabling his bene.

So as far as I recall, they used the wall o justice trick I think, but they were legit because they had the jailer weapon that suppressed his bene 2hr. Someone else my recall better than I.

I've heard that people have since tried this but haven't gotten it to succeed. But as you said, AV seems to be VERY glitched.

I was reading up on Allakhazam, for more info about AV (reading at FFXIclopedia too). I came across something interesting. While I'm surely not even close to probably laying eyes on him in-game, this is especially an interesting idea cause of where Absolute Virtue is taken from.

AV not meant to be attacked?

There are many little tricks in Lumoria, but I highly doubt the veracity of that one, especially it was posted by someone without access to the zone.

I'd be very dubious of anything except first-hand reports of AV's characteristics. My LS has tried him once (sadly on a day I wasn't online), and we're working on climbing our way back up the NM ladder to get back to JoL/AV.
