Since then I've attempted to login to my POL account to no avail.

I've yet to contact billing and support but really what I wish to know first and foremost is:

Presuming my character details have been deleted. (75PLD/50DRG/37WAR/etc)
Would it really be worth my while returning?

I'm aware FFXI is a very time consuming game and that's why I'm asking. I do not wish to start from scratch again only to waste a lot of time in the game getting back up to where my original character left off to jump ship to FFXIV when it's released.
