I would like to ask few questions. Maybe we can compile something by putting our brains together.

1. is it possible to reach other city yet by walking (who remember the run from windurst to sandorian then to bastok (without taking the ship...) ? (looking at the top view maps i still can't tell.

2. assuming you can teleport to other city @ will (losing anima) are you capable accept multi-city guildleves ?

3. are taking guild leves only limit to the city? I am not level 10 yet, i don't see any option to get it from some sub-town if there is any.

I was in closed beta phase 2, only played for 30 min... (since my pc couldn't take it then have to play by my friend's house). I want to ensure i get a smooth leveling transition on 22th!

Its become way too easy and unrewarding for my taste with everyone running around in epics from the minute they hit 80. Anyway, I originally had FFXI for the ps2 but I don't have a ps2 anymore, and had bought the 07 collection once when I planned to come back but didn't stay for more than a month because of RL stuff. But now, I seem to have lost the install disc. Would I be better off just buying the ultimate collection?

Any server that is more new-player friendly? And do warriors still start out with swords instead of axes?

Right now I can't figure out how to switch between active and passive mode... Help?
EDIT: Nevermind, figured it out.... Sort of confusing UI.

So, I noticed in FFXIV my CPU slowly creeps up to 85C and then throttles itself to cool down. I use a cooling pad for it (it's pretty much one giant fan under the thing, and the pad itself is aluminum to help pull heat away from the laptop), as well, but it doesn't help as much as I would hope. If I turn on a fan and point it right at the laptop, this problem doesn't occur at all.

Any suggestions on how to fix this? Everything is updated and I did open up my laptop and clean it out with compressed air. Surprisingly, it wasn't dusty at all besides a few specs here and there. Would it be bad for my laptop to just take off the bottom panel housing the CPU and let the cooling pad just blow onto it?

(And, yes, I know the thing is old. But it does run FFXIV at 35-50 FPS on low. I see no need to replace it.)

Notes:
CPU: Intel 2.5GHZ Dual Core
Idle Temp: 41C
ViDock2 used as external GPU -- internal laptop GPU does not process anything
Aluminum cooling pad

Edit: I just noticed with the new patch download, even the patcher makes my CPU go insane... No other games do this. -_____- Not even APB made my PC this hot. Guess it's a game problem?

So was just checking out Muzzafuzza's channel again and came across some awesome info about Black Ops from him in a recent WaW video he put up (he was commenting on Black Ops the whole time)

- Recoil is back in force (Thank God, no more cheap shit like the ACR)
- Killstreaks no longer stack, which is also freaking amazing. So no more Predator Missle into Harriers into Pave Low or whatever; you only get streaks from gun kills. EAT THAT NOOBS!
- Brand new perks like Hacker which are freaking killer (you can hack enemy claymores and turrets o.O) and what's really hilarious is you can rig enemy care packages with explosives!

And IMO, the best part of all (certainly my favorite); The following perks have been removed;

- Stopping Power, Juggernaut, Commando and One Man Army. That shit is GONE and it's never coming back, hallelujah! I would have liked it if they'd nixed Last Stand and Danger Close as well but this is fine.

No more screwy extra bullet damage or life, no more fucking lunging with a knife from 10+ feet away, and no more god damned Infinite Grenades! Though you can still use Scavenger for that but at least that way you need to go out and pick up the kits.

A lot of us have participated in the open beta, but, since they've barred us access to their forums, we've no place to offer our feedback or bug reports. I though that we could do that here and it would, at some point, most likely be seen by a developer roving our forums.

It's been observed that the player will be unable to attack certain enemies, even if those enemies can link and become aggressive if the player engages a similar enemy available for attack. This leaves the player unable to defend themselves, and eventually leads to their death.

When the player dies of poison after defeating the monster that poisoned them, the message in the chat log reads You have been defeated by You, or something similar. (I saw this one coming)

The "Armory" system doesn't feel like much of a system at all. It's a huge hassle to have to change both main and off-hand weapons every time I want to change roles. It would be nice if a GUI similar to the equipment screen were implemented where the player could create different presets for their jobs. A drop down or tabs would contain the different presets they've created, and the player could then equip that preset with what is currently in their inventory. A single click of a button at the bottom would allow them to quickly switch to that job with the preset equipment.

The player needs to have access to the entire map for whatever region they're in. It doesn't make any sense to show them a location on a map that they must travel to without showing them where, in relation to their current position, that location is.

The client shouldn't crash when the player alt-tabs from a maximized window. It should also not crash when the player alt-tabes from a windowed client for an extended period of time.

Just... wow. I'm not sure how (if at all) HP & MP differ among the races, but that's some messed up starting stat distribution.

How the hell exactly are Highlander humans more rigged for physical combat than Roegadyn or Elezen? Even Miqo'te are much more potent at physical combat this time around. Lalafell honestly don't have any real choice for Physical combat, elves are kinda weird too...

I mean, what the crap? The Hyur is the only race really with a good choice between a Physical and Magical clan. The other races are all slightly better in one aspect than the other while maintaining largely similar stats between both choices. Weak sauce SE, very weak. I was happy that in Phase 3 all races had the same starting stats :(

 - Pet Food Beta (Level 24)
- Pet Food Gamma (Level 36)
- Pet Food Delta (Level 48)
- Deus Ex Automata (PUP Lv.5 / Ability Delay: 1 min.)

Pitcock: ‘I refer to video games as my drug of choice’

"Quinn Pitcock had always been someone who let few people into his life, but those he allowed in his inner circle were alarmed at his obsession with video games and tried their best to convince him he was on a downward spiral.

He brushed their comments aside, though, as he would an opposing offensive lineman.

A star football player at Piqua High School and a first-team All-American defensive tackle at Ohio State, Pitcock was drafted in the third round by the Indianapolis Colts in 2007.

He played in nine games as a rookie and had 30 tackles and 1½ sacks. Then he mysteriously walked away from the game.
In the macho world of professional sports, Pitcock wasn’t able to open up about what was swirling around inside him. The 6-foot-2, 300-pounder was dealing with anxiety and depression. And he found he could dull the pain by immersing himself in Xbox Live.

At the height of his compulsion — playing the Call of Duty series under the alias Randy the Random 1 — Pitcock said he’d wake up on a typical day at 3 p.m. and play until 6 or 7 a.m. the following morning.

After years in the spotlight as a high-profile athlete, he couldn’t face the real world. Video games enabled him to retreat from society, and that anonymous moniker meant he didn’t have to feel the pressure of living up to the Pitcock name.

“First-person shooter games were my thing. I was ranked at one point 55th in the world,” he said during a phone interview from Seattle, where he’s attempting a comeback after two seasons away from the NFL. “But it just consumed me. It’s a world I shouldn’t have been into.

“I got just overwhelmed with so much stuff. I have my anxiety issues, which I didn’t think I had but later learned I had very high levels of. ... You hear with other people how it’s drugs or alcohol. I stayed away from that area. I refer to video games as my drug of choice. I became addicted to it.”

The concept of video-game addiction is gaining acceptance around the globe. There’s even a detox center in Europe and numerous books being written on the subject.

As with all addicts, recovery begins with a moment of clarity. And Pitcock, 26, said his time came when he took a job with AdvoCare, a wellness company, and blew off an out-of-town seminar.

“The video game I was playing is the most popular one out there (Hardcore Search and Destroy). At all hours, somebody is always on — there’s thousands of people playing at all times. As soon as you want to get off, there’s another person saying, ‘Let’s play.’ So you stay on.

“I signed up for a success school, going down to Texas for a weekend. But I had played so many video games right before my trip and wasn’t ready and had no sleep. I called off my flight and trip, and stayed in the next couple weeks. I was calling off a lot of different things for video games. ... That’s when I knew it was a problem.”

Pitcock first opened up to his girlfriend and family. He sought treatment and professional counseling.

But typical of many cases of addictive behavior, Pitcock had his share of relapses.

“I tried the cold turkey. I actually have about five video-game CDs that are either broken or burned or cracked that are hanging on the walls in my apartment for each time I got so mad at myself for playing again and broke ’em. But then a couple days later, I’d go out and buy a new one. It took awhile.”

Pitcock said he’s gotten rid of his Xbox and hasn’t played for three months. And once he was able to get his anxiety and depression under control with treatment, his love for football came back.

He signed with the Seahawks and immediately went public with his addiction. And he’s been amazed at how well his story has been received.

“I’ve already had a few people contact me and open up and ask me for advice,” he said. “It’s been a very humbling experience. Hopefully, it’s had an impact on other people’s lives and they’ve been able to help themselves.”

Pitcock wants to use football as a platform to free others from video-game addiction. He’s hoping to find a home with the Seahawks, who play a preseason game at Oakland tonight, Sept. 2, and will make final cuts Saturday.

He recognizes now that he made a mistake walking away from football — he was in the second year of a three-year, $1.267 million contract — but life is becoming pleasurable again, and he has no regrets.

“As soon as I quit, I wanted to come right back, but I was too stubborn and didn’t know how people were perceiving me,” he said. “But I wouldn’t change anything for the world. How it happened worked out great for me. I’m where I want to be right now.”

-------------

Ah gaming has long been my drug of choice and I don't forsee a 12 step program in my future either. It's never affected my job but I have to honestly say it has affected my relationship at times. I've weathered the storm though and matured quite a bit and now gaming is still an important part of my life but within reason.

Not much else to say, but here are some important bullet-points

- Bob Gale, the writer of the trilogy, is working with Telltale games on the story
- Lloyd and Fox will be reprising their roles as Doc Brown and Marty McFly
- Five episodes
- The year, obviously, is 1985.

Its still my favorite trilogy of all time, so I'm excited Telltale is making this.
