... IE7 issue...

I cant open a new tab in IE7. Everytime I try IE7 just crashes. Don't tell me to use Fire Fox either. I have been having issues with that as well. with Fire Fox, I cant load certain webpages, and its a littls sluggish on my PC for some reason.

I just want to know if there is a way I can fix the issue I am having with IE7. Thank you.

Did they take out webchat support form ffxi page?

Im having issues after reinstalling the game and I cant seem to find the webchat support.

The issue is I just reinstalled the game via steam and am using my old account. The thing is...it keeps telling me I dont have content ID!

And when I try to reactivate it it keeps giving me this error called UCS-1104, which tells me my info is wrong :S

Could anyone help me?

So after a few months of inactivity...I came back...I try to play and it says I have no content id...I try to check it and it gives me this error.

Anyone knows whats going on?

PRIDE is a high opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit, or superiority, whether as cherished in the mind or as displayed in bearing, conduct, etc.

Do you think Pride is a cause of conflict and an exaggeration of one's significance?
I don't believe in pride in my life, I avoid being proud of things. I think that keeps me level headed. Because I feel people who are proud, are the most sensitive to insults and easily get upset when things don't go their way, or someone performs better than they do.

Well more on that later hmm.....

GLORY is something that is a source of honor, fame, or admiration.

what is honor?

HONOR is honesty, fairness, or integrity in one's beliefs and actions.

what is integrity?

INTEGRITY is attachment to moral and ethical principles.
MORALITY = conformity to the rules of right conduct; moral or virtuous conduct.
VIRTUE= righteousness

Oh wow. I been typing this up, and I'm starting to learn some things already! But it would help to receive input from others how they feel about things like pride, and what people
fight for, what's worth fighting for, what is victory? Oh ya, What IS victory?

VICTORY a success or triumph over an enemy in battle or war.

So when someone says they fight for victory, in what would normally be considered
a sport. Is that true? What is the true victory?

Dual wield question

I thought I remember reading that dual-wielding a joy will do less damage overtime than single wielding it? Is that true? I can't think of how that works out. Dual wielding, with haste gear and -5% dual wielding gear, i would think youd be swinging faster and gaining tp faster than single wielding. Right?

Also, does it make a difference if what you're offhanding is a MK, a multihit weapon. I'm just thinking dual wielding something that have the chance to hit 5 times in 1 swing has to help out DOT (including WS's obviously) as oppose to single wielding a joy.

I'm fast approaching the dreaded Maat fight and been reading, watching videos and asked friends what they used. The thing I find disparity in it how many and which enfeebles to use. I'd like ur input on which spells you used on the red highlighted sections and what success you had.

Here is the strat I've gleaned:

/Sleep II
/Dispel until he has nothing left on him
/Bind (Some said)
/Silence(some said)
/Aero III about 4-5 times
/Sleep II
/Dispel anything you need to
/Bind (Some said)
/Silence(some said)
/Aero III until MP Empty
/Sleep II when he gets close and move to other side of arena

The whole Redesign is about 5 times longer than the original. Imagine if the SNES version was like this back then. :)

Windows 7 Problem

How do I play FFXI on Windows 7 without it being super laggy? I can get the game to launch, and on my game box it says it's Windows 7 compatible but it is super laggy and I have an Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8Ghz, Nvidia 9600GT, and 2GB of RAM. I can play Call of Duty: Modern Warefare 2 on the highest settings with no lag, but I've heard FFXI has problems with Windows 7. Changing the settings does do anything I've chnaged it from low to high settings in FFXI but the lag stays the same for me. How do I fix my lag problem on Windows 7?

Hey everyone,

Recently I have been logging in less and less over the past two months or so, due to lack of motivation. Most of you may be thinking, it's maybe a good time to quit, but the reason why I'm posting this, is because i'm not just ready to give it up, I have yet done any hardcore endgame events, and yet to finish some storylines. Currently I am in a Sky/sea/dyna shell that is decent, the issue I have with them is the personalities within the shell. Some of the members like most EGshells are cocky, self centered, greed before need group of people.

I'm not looking to be engulfed with the drama started by the leaders/members between other shells on my server. I've always been the one to do my job, keep to myself and just get the event over with so I can worry about the next event or job to level for my ls.

Possibly I'm ranting, but I'm looking for a new home, a new ls, a new perception of this game in a light I may be able to enjoy my time online. No real prefernce on server, looking for est, but other run times can be worked around. I have Both thief and Corsair to 75, lolmnk at 73. I have sky/sea/einj access, and some minor experience in all 3. Any suggestions are gladly appreiciated.

Anybody getting it? Gamestop called me yesterday about the midnight release and of course I couldn't go because of work this morning. I think the last night release I went to was GTA: San Andreas and that was like a 9:00 release if I remember right. Also, did anybody watch the movie thing about Ezio's father? (Assassin's Creed: Lineage IIRC.) I caught the tail end of it on Spike when it came on, I'd forgotten all about them showing it on television.

I play on Leviathan, is the server pop really low there or is Vana'diel just wayyy bigger than I thought. I'd be willing to switch servers for a group of friendly people who could teach me a little about the game.

New to FFXI

Hi all, I'm brand new to the game. I have played lots of MMOs in the past but just never picked this one up for one reason or another. I know it has been out for a long time now, but I saw it was only $19.99 on steam and thought maybe I would give it a shot. I started a white mage because I was thinking of becoming a bard or another mage type, not really sure yet. I'm on the fairy server only because I read other forums and saw a lot of people posting that was the server they played on. If any of you are on there my character name is the same as this forum name (Godjinrai) feel free to throw me a tell, I'm sure I will have lots of questions of you veterans. Well look forward to meeting some of you, and thanks for your time.

Been playing for about an hour now and I can't believe how tough the starting area is. I have died so many times already. Tough learning curve I suppose, different from all other MMOs I have played for sure.

RDM in Campaign

So my rdm is 71 and ive been looking at an equipment setup for being able to solo mobs in campaign. I've been looking at a +haste build and then in slot where i don't ahve the +haste option going with - damage equipment. There's so much -dmg equipment, but I don't see amny people going with the +haste and -damage build. Why not in campaign? The only reasoning I would not go with -dmg gear is if i cant get hate, but just on my 71 rdm, i was able to grab hate so I'm thinking it won't be much of a problem once i hit 75. The gear I'm looking at once I hit 75:

Joyeuse
Genbu's Shield -10 dmg taken
Walahra Turban +5% haste (when meleeing, why are rdm's using AF? Relic, ok you get refresh, but are you really using that much mp???)
I'm open for suggestions in ammo slot, i've been using the +2 int and 10 mp thing
Bull Necklace +25 strength, hell yeah! If i'm missing i'll use chivalrous chain
Ethereal Earring
Suppamomi spelling?
Goliard Saio +4% haste
Dusk Gloves +3% haste
Patronous Ring -10% physical damage taken
Jelly Ring -5% physical damage taken
Cheviot Cape -5% physical damage taken
Swift Belt +4% haste
ASA RDM legs - i'm looking at +3% haste -4% damage reduction
Dusk feet - +2% haste

So this would give me haste in every slot i could get it (i'm not subbing drg) totaling +21% haste. The damage reduction totals -34% physical damage. I can't think of a more badass setup. If I went /dnc with drain samba II, Phalynx on, and regen up, I'm thining I would be able to give it a while before needing to cast a Cure spell. not needing to cast Cure often, and having a haste build with Joyeuse and an Enspell II should accumulate a good deal of damage. There has to be something I'm missing though because I never see RDM in campaign with a haste build, they are typically meleeing in an AF or relic setup. Depending on how much damage this - physical damage setup mitigates, I might even be able to go /drk for more attack power and LR and SE. On top of that, once i hit 75, rdm gets phalynx II and slow/para II, which would decrease the amount of damage i'd get over time even more... I invested in the +15% macc ammo piece to make sure those enfeebles stick.

Sooo... that's my game plan. Again my question is, are there holes in this setup? Why aren't more, or for that matter, any rdm's taking this approach?

Anyone else hating the new NMs?

So far I’ve camped 2 of them hardcore this weekend

Drops a cape with Pet:Store TP+3
0/12 on this one.

“Sac?????” (Chingoe) in Graus[s] (cant remember his name)
Drops the Shiva: Mag Acc feet
0/8 on this one

couple other randoms that i helped people with (no drops)

Most of those had TH3 also...my weekend was destroyed camping these guys with no luck L

The only upside is their pop windows/conditions are nothing extreme.

Left 4 Dead 2. More co-op fun for friends.

Sigh, it's too bad I don't have a xbox360 anymore. If it only didn't get the red lights I would of bought L4D2.
L4D1 really has countless great moments, there's nothing else (with the exception of mmorpgs) that can bring people together like
Left 4 Dead. And that computer thingy that changes what enemies might come out, and other things, really makes a single
level feel different each time! I don't think they should be so stubborn about staying true to the story, they could of added
the original 4 characters for 8 playable characters if they wanted to (maybe the veterans took a vacation down south) .
Oh well, the new 4 characters are cool too. The first game really defined how cooperation and teamwork can be important and fun in a shooting game. :) This sequel looks even more fun with new infected types (the charger and jockey are hilarious.)
new weapons (ninja sword! whee!) and new challenging adventures! (realism mode sounds like it will be harder than expert.)

oh well, there's always youtube walkthroughs after release to watch and pretend to be playing. :p

How will FFXI become with real PVP contents!

I know this is pretty much going to be a dead topic or lock, but i would be nice if someone bring this up in next fanfest or something.

Since FFXIV is closing in soonish. While don't we have SE try add some real PVP element beside those "brenner and ballista" and please don't call them even pvp, no one even play them at least on my server(s). The only reason they are used are for duels.

What is the point of gearing up when there is nothing else to use it anyway, i am sure a lot people are in the same boat.

So i want to hear some ideal, at least it would be fun to see what everyone thing if FFXI have real PVP contents. For example: a battlefield where Windurst taru vs bastok Galka in a true battle with objective of siege"

The way i see it is, PVP should come in a new expansion that travel into 30 years later (and maat finally DEAD, it better be an epic one). Setting is something where country start battling for resources ... like windurst losing mana, and bastok want more mining and sandy want to prevent those two overpower. A third party of beastman will allied and attack as a third party on any places along but sometime they will make ally with some nation base on their power balance

New outpost will be player set to mine specific power resource and return to their nation for "points". players can form unions with their nation in that... etc.

There will be airship battles!!! where airship come close into each other enough to dock each other in the air!

Someone bring it up in next fanfest please, we all know they don't care about "english" inputs from these forums.

I currently have my game cancelled due to me taking a break but I do plan on coming back after I move which will be Feb so prolly rejoin then or March. Anyway, does anyone know about the steam version at all? I don't own shantotto add on yet, so if I bought this would that give it to my account that already exists? Also does this keep the game updated or do we have to use the normal POL method? (I guess this will be impossible to tell until there's an update)

Final Fantasy IV if western artists made it.

Sigh, I think some ppl are going to see this games credits to figure out who's stupid idea was it
to have the 3rd and 4th the same basic type of character. I mean, it doesn't need to be a Smash game
to offer more playables than that. One top of that, it's said if someone is playing alone, they can't choose
who they want to use! *slaps Nintendo's wrist*. I wonder what Sakurai is doing these days?
It's like Nintendo is barely trying to make a GREAT game these days. Not just a good game. :p
