Chocobo Care Plans?

Hi everyone,
Got my first Chocobo Egg today from Jeuno(top floor can't remeber name), Anyway it's a slightly warm egg didn't know which to pick lol anyway.... Been reading through guides etc and I can't decide whats best care plan to set up...

I'm wanting a Red Chocobo but chances are it will be yellow >.< but I can always breed it with a red card later on......

anyway what should a decent care plan look like?

Any advice would be great ^^

What kind of chocobo do you want? Fast? Good at digging? Meant for breeding? Tell us what you want out of your choco and we can tell you what to feed him and what care plans to use. Until then you can read

Oh sorry hehe
I am wanting a chocobo mean't for breeding as this is my first Chocobo,
Get some abilities onto him maybe so I can breed it with a red or blue card later and pass them on, So then I can have a decent blue or red bird ^.^

At the moment my choc is a egg if I keep using "Watch Over" does it boost it's affection once or will it do it for everytime I use it?

Breeding Chocobo:

Care phase 1: Teach abilities
You must select two abilities from the list and acquire the stories for them. The chocobo should be set to a Discernment-raising care plan until it reaches "Better than Average" for some abilities (including Gallop/Canter) and Impressive for others (such as Bore/Burrow). If you acquire the necessary statistic levels, but are having trouble acquiring the stories, switch back to Basic Care so that you can squeeze in two long walks per day and double the speed at which you'll get the long walk story you need. Once the chocobo has two abilities, this phase is over.

Care phase 2: Increase Statistics
Spend the rest of your time raising the chocobo's statistics according to care plans appropriate for the abilities that you taught it. You can ignore its current statistics if necessary. You will need to decrease Discernment in order to reach a high level of Endurance--the two statistics can not both be high, but this is the only mutual exclusion example. The only way to raise both statistics is by using Basic Care which will not be able to produce First-Class results over the life of your chocobo--iirc "Basic" increases all statistics by 1 and each statistic has a maximum of 256. Therefore, you get around 149 points on all attributes by doing Basic every day for the life of the chocobo.

How do I raise it's Discrement?

Discernment Careplans (from weakest to strongest):

1. Basic care (raises all stats)
2. Listen to Music (raises DIS/REC, lowers STR/END): Low output
3. Interact with Children (raises DIS, lowers STR/END): Not recommended--possibly a small %-based increase in DIS that doesn't beat the Exhibition program which becomes available at the same time.
4. Exhibition (raises DIS/REC, lowers STR/END): Medium output
5. Dig for treasure (Raises DIS, lowers END): High gain, medium loss.

Well I managed to get a Blue Male and Female choc card so I am waiting now for the egg from them >.<..... could take awhile
I know the stats of male are all medium ish and no idea about female so I set the date as take traits of the male.
So hoping I get a blue baby ^^
