Please Help! I just went to check on my chocobo as I entered back into Sandy, and I got this message from the NPC choco guy (Hantileon) at South Sandy stables. "I am terribly sorry, but it looks like the time has come to part with your chocobo.
Stardust Claw (this is what I named her) will be transferred to one of the Vana 'diel chocobo society farms."
Then he went on to say.... "Do not fret ; this will not be your last meeting. Stardust Claw will come to you whenever you call."
Then I received a couple of items.
1 VCS registration card, and 1 yellow VCS Plaque
But now I'm really confused. What does all this mean please?
I still have my chocobo whistle, and can call her when I need her, but there are still things I wanted to train her on, like her endurance and other things which ended up very poor, and she doesn't have a lot of strength and no speed like the original chocos! Isn't there any way I can still train her? I'm not going continue use of my choco in this poor state, especially the slow speed at which it runs!!
I then went to speak to the choco guy again, (Hantileon, at the choco stables) and he said to trade an egg to him if I want to start raising a choco!
If I have to start all over again, I'm not completely sure where to get an egg from.
I know that it's an npc in Ru 'Lude Gardens, but what is the POS and the name please? | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 01-17-2007, 04:35 PM | #2 (permalink) | | Bad Wolf Super Moderator Join Date: Apr 2004 Location: Texas Posts: 3,410 Style: Dark - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 41 Thanked 139x in 100 Posts Gil: 14,684 Bank: 38,656 Total Gil: 53,340 Donate | Re: Chocobo Problem. Please Help! No, you can't train your chocobo anymore. You'll have to start with a new one.
You can buy a new egg, or you can use your card, and a card of a choco of the opposite sex and get a new egg.
As far as the NPC that sells eggs:

Please Help! Okay, I managed to find it eventually. I decided to buy another egg, and I'm going to start again. I'm hoping this time I might get a different coloured one rather than the original yellow.
Just another thing though.
I still have my chocobo whistle too. Will that one work for the new one, or will I have to just chuck it away? | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 01-17-2007, 09:25 PM | #5 (permalink) | | J...atatouille Super Moderator Join Date: Dec 2002 Posts: 8,338 Style: Light - Version 5 My Mood: Thanks: 5 Thanked 136x in 106 Posts Gil: 25,415 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 25,415 Donate | Re: Chocobo Problem. Please Help! keep the whistle. You can still use it. Right now, it will call your old chocobo.
Once your new chocobo gets old enough, you'll have a choice to "register" it. Once you do that the whistle will call your new bird instead. There are painters who transform the sun into a yellow spot,
but there are others who with the help of their art and their intelligence
transform a yellow spot into the sun.

I have a question, I had to retire my bird early, with school and all I just didn't have time to take care of her, can I do the chocobo whistle quest and call her out still?
You have the right to remain silent, anything you say can and will be misqouted and then used against you. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 01-18-2007, 12:45 PM | #7 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: May 2006 Posts: 115 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 156 Thanked 10x in 10 Posts Gil: 7,202 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 7,202 Donate | Re: Chocobo Problem. Please Help! I'm sorry, looks like you need to start over. If youn retire a chocobo the only
way to call it is with the whistle. You can't get the whistle without the
chocobo. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 01-18-2007, 02:18 PM | #8 (permalink) | | =~.^= Brain of Knowledge Join Date: May 2006 Location: Area 3.141592654...... Ah, so if I get the whistle, and then retire my chocobo, I can call her out and keep recharging the whistle? That's good news, then all I have to do is take care of the chocobo until she is grown and then retire her for use as a mount.
