Breeding Red and Black
Yesterday i had this crazy idea... you know how when you are waiting for an egg from finbar? and he says "..so the chick of a red sire and black dame would be..." well i have decided to do that. i have been looking since my 2nd chocobo for red male and black female.. on my forth chocobo i have found such a match, and not just any run of the mill chocobo... both of the parents have first class physical atributes. being please with the cards i went to jeuno and traded them to finbar along with the sports plan to hopfuly inherit the red color. i was at first worried that they woulld not lay an egg.. but to my astonisment they did. ok soo eggs, their are 5 diffrent eggs a bit ,slightly, faintly, little and somewhat. the first 3 being sold by the little girl, the 4th from a lvl 60 isnm and the 5th, the somewhat, being obtained from the 75 isnm.. i never in all my wildest fantasys expected to see that egg, BUT that is the egg they laid, the somewhat warm. i have just taken this egg to hantileon in sandy to begin raising my chocobo. i do not know what i will get from this egg or this breeding but i am extreamly excited.

now for my question, have any of you raised a somewhat warm egg? if so, what was inside it? id really likr to know what kind of chocobo ill be dealing with >.<

Re: Breeding Red and Black
My latest redxred egg turned out slightly warm. I didn't pay much attention to my other eggs in the past tho.

Re: Breeding Red and Black
I got a somewhat warm egg from breeding a Black female to a yellow male. Neither one had first class but they both had above average strength and endurance. I will know today what color my chick is going to be. I'm hoping for a Black chick. As it sits right now she has sub standard strength and endurance. I'm looking forward to getting off work and seeing if she is going to be black.

Re: Breeding Red and Black
I bred my previous yellow female bird (avg str and end) with a black male (substandard str, poor everything else) with the plan to encourage male traits to come through.

The result was a faintly warm egg and it turned out female and she is yellow. Currently she has impressive str, better than avg end, poor disc and receptivity.
Have to check the day number but I think its 33 will know more when I get home from work.

Hope this helps.

Re: Breeding Red and Black
Me and my mom both play on Phoenix

When we got cards to get our second birds we bred two blacks together (Both bit def str/end)

My egg came out Slightly Warm and her came out Somewhat warm.

Her's was a black male mine was a Black Female

Hers ended up with Better than Average Str/end while mine hit Impressive str/end Could have gotten them clear up to First Class but we retired them to start raising Reds (red+red mating)

We've figured out the secret of controling what gender chick you get though XP Doesn't matter waht plan you use either.. I always get the female I want and Mom always gets the Male she wants (And we always both use the gormet plan) We is goood heh

Re: Breeding Red and Black
My ls mate exchanged our first chocobos' cards to get the eggs for our second chocobos. Both parents were yellow and both of us got "little warm" eggs. She used the gourmet plan which increases the chance that a male chocobo will be born and got a female black chocobo. I used the hiking plan which increases the chances of the chick being female or having high discernment and got a male yellow chocobo with high receptivity.
