I may be wasting my time if this quest is done by taking the chocobo walking, like the whistle quest >.>

But the NPC said I should talk to the little kid NPC if I find anything. It sounds like I should be able to find something on my own huh.

I had the same encounter today, with Hantileon in San'Doria. No idea where to look, or what to do... I believe it mentioned if I found anything to talk to Arvilauge, but he doesn't do much but act like an encyclopedia on chocobo information.

So far, I've found nothing in both Sarutabaruta area. Looked through half south map of tarongi and found nothing either.
Tomorrow I'll try take my chocolat to walk again and see if he finds anything.

I had the same thing happen to me. Weirdly, right after this happened, I took my new chocoling (I killed my old one x.x) on another walk, and he found an item, that he then gave to me. I've never had that happen before, although i'm sure it isn't rare.

yeah i am in Sandy and i got this same Quest, i searched in W Ron for him and couldnt find the owner, then i took my choco on a short walk and he said the he found out the persons name began with a V??? if i dont learn anything new tomarrow i will search La thein and Jugner....

One of my LS friends said when he went to send some things to his mule, that the npc mentioned something about the lost chocobo. Perhaps check the area near the stables for people with names starting with the letter. It may be a clue given each day until you solve it type thing.

Yeah, I got the same quest too. I took my chick on another walk after getting that quest, and I got the letter L (this was in Sandy btw on Ramuh), but now I dunno what to do. I'm completely at a loss.

Update: Took my chick on another walk and Hantelion gave me another clue: an Elvaan man. So this brings me to... Elvaan man with a name beginning with the letter "L."

It appears that this quest may be somewhat like the lost luggage quest on the airship. After getting the clue that the person's name began with a 'K', I started going through Windurst talking to all the 'K' NPCs in town. I found one who, when I talked to her, I was given the option to ask her about the lost chocobo. Not knowing any better, I agreed to ask her about it and her response was something about how I must be joking and was just trying to get close to her! When I went back to the chocobo person, she said that they'd found the owner and returned the chick, with no quest completion noise or anything. I looked around some more, but it looks like that was it.

So apparently, I found the wrong owner, and the quest is over without success. I'm sure if you find the correct owner there is some reward.

Also a note: the chocobo person who tells you all the info will also have an option for the lost chocobo at the bottom if you are on this quest. He will tell you what clues you have received. So it looks like you need to get enough clues to find the correct owner or you get nothing. So get clues by taking your chocobo on a walk and meeting people.

This will save alot of us from making the same mistake. I wonder if you only get the chance to do quest 1 time per choco. Let us know if you get the 'lost choco' CS again.
