I tried this a bit the other night, I dug up bone chips, rattan lumber, cinnamon, and danceshrooms, but my dig time is still sitting around 16 seconds. I guess you just have to dig x number of times before your skill goes up?

A friend of mine told me you can dig up elemental ores which are very very expensive. I came here to see if anyone had any info on that.

It actually occurs to me that the obstinant one may be right. I do believe that it would be pheasible (sp?) that there is also a hidden mining skill. The reason I say this is simply because I have seen differences in results mining. My friends recall that when they first came to gusgen all they got were breaks, but now the get much better results... Perhaps they "levelled" their mining ability? Just a thought...

Building up the info...
After about 3 days of digging now I'm at Level 1, and nearing 2...I say this because I've started to dig up petrified logs...something I didn't before...yet another sign that *gasp* chocobo digging skill is in fact...REAL!!

Enough sarcasm...I've mashed everything I know about this so far into one very easy to read HTML doc, that I plan to update...its also got a few tips for beginners, ect...hope everyone enjoys. When I start into other areas I'll post up what I dig there and which days are the good ones...as far as good and bad days to dig...its not BS, its tried and tested...the difference between digging yhutunga on fire day and ice day, is barely breaking even, and making 20k profit.

Ultimate Chocobo Digging Guide

Also please note the prices in the guide reflect the prices on Ifrit, they will probably vary on your server.

and...
A quick question...the original starter of this thread listed that the cheapest greens price was 50 gil....with max fame with windhurst my greens price is 61 gil...

It could be they patched it up since then, that or the chocobo greens merchants will get cheaper yet if I max my fame with all 3 nations...I'm only maxed with windy atm...I'm just curious if anyone can varify they've seen greens for less than 61 gil. Thanks.

:spin:

Congratulations! You've ruined digging! There's 60 ebony logs and 50 rosewood logs on sale in jeuno now! There was 2 and 8 respectively last week. Theres 35 stacks or rattan lumber in san d'oria now. There was 2 last week. All of the prices of dig items has dropped by about 1000 - 2000 gil. So much for your 20000 profit days. You had a huge advantage, I can't believe you would squander it. /clap

ps Ask some gardeners about how much they dislike the guy that posted the guide on how to grow platinum nuggets.
