new Animal Planet show.. Fatal Attraction

This is probly the most graphic show when it comes to "When animals attack". I saw this preview for it on ET earlier today, and it looks disturbingly good. The show focuses on people who own wild animals and they go nuts!

What they showed was this 911 call from a ladies friend saying her pet Chimp killed her and tore her face off and was consuming the flesh.. the Lady surviived, but her face was HORRIBLY disfigured. Her eyeballs were ripped out, and her mouth was kinda moved to the right as if her jaw was ripped from the socket and unable to be placed back in..

This show is definitely a must watch/Tivo for me.. I didn't catch when it comes on, but I am sure you can find it on the internet.

Yes, I have seen in my travels how stupid people can be. When I was on my Harley out west in the national parks, people in cars would stop dead right in front of me and then get out and go up to WILD ANIMALS to take their pictures. The road would be blocked both ways and I'd be stuck out in the open with no god damn protection....the freakin idiots. Once I saw a woman and her son nearly get mauled by a buffalo and it happened RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME. The buffalo turned to me and stared at me for 30 seconds, only 3-4 feet away. I was slowly putting down my kickstand so that if I needed to get off quickly and run behind a car for protection, I could. The rangers came several minutes later and I asked if I could sit in their vehicle and calm down while they got things straightened out because I was really shook up.

I don't believe in PETA's bs but I do think there needs to be a line drawn with pets. Especially pets kept in residential areas.

As a person that works with animals, I train dogs, and animal behavior its wise to note:

A WILD ANIMAL WILL NEVER MAKE A GOOD PET!

Animals that are domesticated are modified in behavior to live and work with people but a wild animal will always be unpredictable. A lion, tiger, chimp or bear will always have instincts that can be triggered and result in tragedy especially when hormones are high during a breeding season in adulthood. Even parrots, who haven't been domesicated long enough to be 100% tame at all times, get whacky when they are hormonal. There are days I'll leave my cockatoo in her cage during breeding season and not take her out.

Even though some wild animals might be bred its not the same as "selective breeding" that results in domestication. The wild animal "pet trade" has poor breeding practices and result in more unstability. Even when careful animal husbandry is done by zoos to preserve endangered species they are still wild animals and can kill. Case in point the recent tragedy of the killer whale trainer being killed. The truth though is that she was a professional and knew the risks.

I think this show will be a good educational tool.

As for PETA they are nothing more than a "pseudo" animal rights group. Listen to recordings of their meetings leaked on the web and look up info on them they are not what they seem to be on the surface. They think nothing on criminal mischeif and even violence if their "cause is just" and go way overboard. The ASPCA is a real animal rights group.

I agree to an extent.. Many people own wild animals, and stuff like this is actually pretty rare.. I think you can fully domesticate a wild animal, but it may take many years of descendants. Even Dogs and Cats still have a bit of wild instinct, they just know from years of domestication that we aren't prey. But when you see animal attacks from Dogs on the news, it makes you wonder if that is actually a bit of the wild coming out and not just a Dog turning on its owner. But this changes my thoughts on owning a Blackpanther though. Kinda.. The beauty of these animals kinda makes you want to forget that they are wild.
But did you know, that Sigfried(Or was it Roy?) the Tiger was actually trying to save his life but bit down too hard? And people ask if Animals are capable of love.

I took a look at this post you wrote... and it interested me, so I decided to look back and read a lot more of your posts. End result: You have had a really cool life so far. Kudos!

I was just joking about this to my wife last night. I told her about my compliment to you and we had a good laugh about how if you had a grand-dughter names Aerith, I'd probably die.

This answers my question.

Also... I met a guy one time who's name was Barret... and another named Shadow.

Barret was not a big black guy with a gun-arm. Unfortunately. That would have been the highlight of my life. Shadow is a kid I went to school with. His family is essentially a coven of hippies. His brother's name is Levi (named after the jeans) and his sister is Starshine. After I learned his siblings names... it really wasn't as impressive as I thought. Still cool.
