All right, the irony here is just too fucking funny to pass up; Halo Legends Blu-ray dated Feb. 9, 2010; perfect fanboy storm approaches Quote:
Well, I was going to just get the DVD but what the hell, may as well get the Blu-Ray and watch it in 1080p ^^ Frankly I'm amazed Microsoft is even allowing this. | |

My Mood: | Re: Halo Legends on PS3! I'd lol if they did try to attempt to put this on HD-DVD. Mal, why would you want it on DVD anyways if you have a Blu-Ray player (or PS3)?, or did you just assume that since it is M$ (known associate of HD-DVD) that they wouldn't release it on Blu-Ray? M$ wants the $$ everybody should know that by now. I will most definitely have it on Blu-Ray the day it comes out. It wouldn't surprise me if separate episodes were made available through digital download as well in HD.

Wasn't sure which to stick it in tbh. And...Pretty much this. Seeing as Microsoft owns Halo and Blu Ray is Sony's IP it wouldn't make much sense to put your stuff on the competitor's format, much less with extra features over your own. I just find it amusing to see Halo on a Sony console is all (Halo did start on PS2 after all) |

When I read this I was confused.. I don't keep up with halo anymore, so is this a game, or a movie/prologue or whatever? If this is a game.. He'll hath frozen over.

People still make cartoons, but even American cartoons seem to do a fair bit of outsource work to Korea, such as the DC Universe stuff and Clone Wars. Probably the only animated feature this year that won't be like that is The Princess and the Frog. Sad to say, but Americans are kinda whipped on the whole CG animation thing. Not that its bad, but I still think hand-drawn is far more versatile. They're going to take forever to produce either way. |

You one of the main reasons I was drawn to anime in the first place was how much better the quality of animation was over North American, especially Canadian cartoons good lord. That's not to say they were bad or I didn't love any of them ^^ just that when you compare the styles, anime just looks much more polished and refined. The irony of it is that anime was first inspired by Disney. |

I'm not sure it's more refined so much as it is simply a different style. Heck even among anime today there's a very mainstream style that tends to go hand in hand with subpar shows. We just look for stuff that breaks away from the run-of-the-mill shows, it just happened to be anime back in the day since it was different from the North American style. What's happened now is that companies have this mentality that if they throw enough Japanese animators at a project it will be a success, which isn't necessarily the case. Yes, I think we're all well aware of Disney inspiring the style and how eerie that is.
