Jack Thompson sues Facebook for $40M

Suing Facebook because some gamers hurt his feelings. For extra lulz, he filed in Florida, the state that disbarred him.

Citing Facebook's recent decision to remove a poll asking if U.S. President Barack Obama should be shot, Thompson demands the same treatment for his detractors in the lawsuit. "Unlike our President, Thompson does not have the Secret Service to protect him," he writes.

As if the two are even remotely comparable. Some of the stuff being said about him on there might warrant a bit of action, but threatening the President is a federal offense >.>

Yeah I'm not happy with the information that people are harassing Jack Thompson and making it hard for him to live a normal life.

a) It gives him fuel when I want nothing more than to forget he ever existed.

b) It makes video gamers, as a whole, look immature and unaccountable. Completely willing to behave in ways contrary to an established American norm. i.e. proving him right.

IF people are harassing him, then ya that's wrong, but still, I feel little for him as he has placed a giant target on himself by being a jackass.

On top of that, Facebook is not the police or in any way required to regulate what it's users say online. Suing them is simply looking for a big payday and an attempt to get his face in the media again.

This^^ I totally agree.

I was hoping that once he got disbarred that no gamer should ever have to hear his name again. However, he will haunt our children...and our children's children even after we've died.

I would have thought by now that people realized there are risks involved with putting your face on Facebook. Jack Thompson posting on Facebook, yes, why not just wave that flame around the dry brush a little more Jack?

But I don't spend too much time on the internet at all. >.>

On topic: another reason for me to hate Florida that I'd forgotten about, and that's Jack Thompson. Why hasn't anyone shot him yet?

2. Not worth the bullets
