I'm going to assume since the movie concept came about 14 years ago that the game was just something recently thought up and it'll either be directly based on the story or a sidestory. The planes did look similar to Halo and that is exactly what I thought when I saw it. When I showed my friend a trailer for it he said it looked like Halo meets Farcry.
