Saw this last night. Totally worth staying up till 4 in the morning on a work night for. Not a perfect movie, and people can pick out plot holes and such all day long about it, but it's still an excellent film. Much like the first one, when it's bad it's bad and when it's good, it's mindblowingly awesome.

Kevin and Olivia walked out on it half way through the screening at its red carpet premiere. That says a lot.

Megan Fox is probably one of the worst actresses I've seen in quite some time. The fact she's hot will give her five more minutes of fame before the next hotter girl comes along. She needs to drop the whole "I'm the next Angelina Jolie" vibe, though, boob jobs and craziness aside, Angelina can actually act.

As for Transformers. It was a cartoon made to sell toys. The movies were made to stir nostalgia and sell merchandise. I don't really care to see it. Funny I say that while wearing a T-Shirt with the old-school purple and green Decepticon insignia on, it was something I picked up back in college before these movies came about.

I remember the Transformers animated move, god what a steaming pile that was. On par with the first Street Fighter live action movie.

I just prefer to remember it as it was, I guess. The moment I had an NES, I pretty much forgot all about Transformers and toys in general. My parents initially liked that, as it kept me occupied and they only had to keep my sister pinned down. By the time Metroid debuted, they wanted their TV back..

I just want the mindblowingly awesome parts and not the bad. Most of the reviewers I've been reading reviews from also agree with you, which is a shame, I was hoping for something better than the first one. Which wasn't bad, it just felt lacking, much like the last three star wars movies.

Dunno about that, I've only seen her in the first transformers movie when it first came out, and don't seem to recall if she was either bad or good, which may tell you something there. I will say that she is so not what I envision a pretty woman to look like. IMO she is so totally not pretty.

While the original was indeed nothing more then a massive toy commercial...as was the style back in the 80s, these new movies are anything but. Hasbro, as a company, has been making a major effort to be more of an IP company similar to Marvel then just a simple toy company, and they used Transformers as their flagship step in said direction. They're pushing any and all possible franchises they own into numerous different mediums. The new Transformers movies were an attempt to bring the Transformers mythos to an audience who doesn't pay attention to cartoons or toys, and so far it's been working very well. While both films have been critical failures...and rightfully so to be honest, they've been massive hits in the eyes of the viewing public.

But if you go into this movie not wanting to like it, you won't like it. So it's best not to bother.

I know my friends will try and make me watch this with them on Friday.

God damn, I actually movie hopped to see the first one and I regret every second I spent in that theatre even though I didn't pay to see it. Worse yet, my girlfriend wants to see it too so I may end up paying for two tickets to a movie I don't even want to see.
