Because its a comic book movie. The Academy is so far up its own collective ass it can't be bothered to lower itself and nominate a comic book movie for best picture.

The academy is made up of a certain type of person. They all kiss each others ass and also the asses of others of their ilk in the movie business. But thats what its all about. The Academy Awards aren't about what you and I think, its about what those people think and thats all that matters.

So basically, its like the Supreme Court... we have to wait for these people on the Academy to die before we can change anything. Too bad they appoint each other and public doesn't get a say. Maybe we can get Kevin Smith in, though.

Dark Knight still should have gotten a nod. I kinda get sick of these indie flicks none of us ever get to see taking a nomination and walking away with the prize. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for indie flicks, but many of those are just as much junk as what's put out in the mainstream.

I believe that he means that she is to old for the character of Lara Croft not to old in general. We would all still hit that but Lara is supposted to be able to swan dive and back flip while shooting tigers and thats hard to do with Starvin Marvin on your back.

Harrison Ford is old and he's still at it, he's like 30 years older than Angelina to boot. If he can do it at 65, Angelina is clear for 34, i think

I can see your point though. Looked damn good in Wanted. Oh, and I know Lara is not a high school girl but she is/seems to be in her mid 20's to mid 30's. not with A.J. at 34 thats at the high end. I am not saying that she cant do it at all. Its just pushing it a little.
