'Max Payne' Theatrical Trailer on Yahoo! Video

Marky Mark stars as Mr. Payne. Though the trailer is interesting, go ahead and cue the obvious skepticism about another video game-based movie. We've all seen enough of them (usually 1 is enough) to have learned not to hold our breaths. That makes you die.

edit: p.s., i put this in entertainment because though it's based on a game, movies are not games. If this should be in video games, mods move it. But it doesn't matter.

Nah I agree, should be under Entertainment.........though that remains to be seen!

The trailer at some parts kinda reminded me of the Bourne flicks.

That looks outstanding. Marky Mark was genius in The Happening. Can't wait to see him in this flick. Also, Max Payne was an awesome game. *thumbs up*

They make it look potentially worth while, but honestly, I feel in my bones (and deduce with my eyes) that it is going to be a terrible video game action movie.

I got a good feeling about this one. When I first saw there was a Max Payne movie coming out, a few months ago, I said meh. After I saw that Wahlberg was gonna be in it I said ok now we're getting somewhere. After I saw the trailer in HD on tv the other day I was hyped. I just hope it doesn't let us down.

I can't believe I'm gonna say this as much as I liked this movie, but it can't be any worse than Super Mario Bros. The Movie.

Apparently they were trying to get a PG-13 rating but were told no.

So yah, I'm boycotting this and sticking to the games.

I don't know, I really enjoyed the Hitman film. Although I wish the Max Payne movie was taking a more noir feel, like those comic-ish cut scenes the game had.

Well I might as well start a list since I'm at work bored:

Hitman (Didn't like the acting, but I liked the action lol.)

Super Mario Brothers (Meh it was mario brothers, so it got a instant 1Up)

Mortal Kombat (It was MK so it already had cool points for that, although the acting wasn't as great as it probably could've been.)

Mortal Kombat: Annihilation (See MK above)

Resident Evil Series (Always try to watch these but end up doing something else)

Street Fighter (Got kinda rushed at the end of the movie and some things didnt follow the true story, but i liked it cuz it was Street Fighter.)

Silent Hill (Was this based on the video game, I never played the games or watched the movie.)

Final Fantasy: Spirit's Within (For some reason I thought this was going to be based on a Final Fantasy game but I was wrong lol. Special effects and CG rendering was great and the acting was ok. I own this on Blu-Ray, looks 10000x better than regular)

Final Fantasy: Advent Children (Cloud vs. Sephiroth, visuals were beautiful, I want this on Blu-ray so badly.)

If I missed any add em on lol, i'm sure there was a bunch i forgot.

Wow... that's quite an impressive list of failures. It's a shame too. Some concepts like Bloodrayne and Alone in the Dark had so much more potential.

Resident Evil, Tomb Raider and Silent Hill were all decent though I suppose.

Advent Children and Last Order are by far the best titles on that page.

Max Payne being a movie is somewhat of an oxymoron, given most R* games tend to be emulations of movies to start with. The narritives tried so hard to be noir-ish Frank Miller-type stuff it was practically embarassing to sit and listen to it all.

Granted the story to the second game was really the better of the two, but no one played Max Payne for the story to start with and after that awful drug hallucination scene, no one really cared anymore. To think there was actually a scene in a game worse than the "Laughing in Luca" bit in FFX, but Max Payne actually accomplished it.

Wahlberg doesn't really strike me as a Max, but then, who would? You'd have to look constipated for an entire movie.

Man they should have gotten Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez to direct the movie, the Sin City movie was so good! I'm glad Frank has a hand in making his adaptations, they're always so awesome.
