Yeah In X-men 3 they strayed FARRRRRRR Away the X-men mythis. I enjoyed it as a movie with x-men like characters, but not THE x-men I grew up with.

Then we must've went to see two different movies, cause almost everything done in Xmen 3 can be easily resolved.

Since you've already opened the can of worms, I will dispense with the use of spoiler brackets.

Cyclops does go to the lake, but you don't see him get killed, you only see that his powers have been neutralized by Jean, then it cuts away with them kissing. Later, when asked if by Wolverine if she killed Cyclops, Jean gives a non-answer. With his powers neutralized, he doesn't need his glasses anymore, and no definitive proof or answer was provided.

Now about Xavier, if you were paying attention early in the movie, you'd remember the class he was speaking in, about morality and he introduced a short video with Moria McTaggert and a patient. You can put the pieces together yourself from there.

The virus issue, that's solved for you at end of movie.

Jean? That's the one I hadn't figured out a fix for. Only 3 options for that one. Use the Xavier excuse mentioned above. Use the Phoenix excuse. Or take the story at it's word.

My bf and I just got back from seeing POTC2. During the opening trailers we were sitting there bored and throwing up from just seeing "The nativity" movie trailer, and of course a seemingly stupid trailer for another "oh no don't go to mars you'll die" "aliens are going to attack us at any moment!" "this could be a potential comedy" "we could throw in a few funny lines and make millions!" "shhh let's make love before i go into space and get your father killed" movie, when at the end the title of Transformers .... transformed.... into the title and we both poopied a little in our pantsies o.o;;

75% of those decepticons listed above are like lesser known ones, if known at all, wtf scorpinok? and seriously, wheres soundwave? he's in just about every single episode there was, just because boomboxes arent hip to michael bay, i mean since he's all about butchering their forms, he could have made soundwave into a very large ipod or a cd changer or something, he's so damn creative with the other ones, he cant think of something for soundwave?

Well it makes sense to make megatron something other then a pistol like he originally was because a pistol isn't all that threatening in comparison. Out of all his multiple incarnations over the years an 'alien jet' isn't all that surprising. Sad they screwed up the face though.

And optimus looks pretty cool, especially in truck mode with the nifty flame paint job.

Were you expecting them to look exactly like they did in the original transformers cartoon? If so that's kind of a naive thing to do. There have been numerous versions of all the transformers through out the years, why would they not change for the live action movie? It seems they wanted to add a more complex and organic design to the movie to give it more of an appeal on the big screen. Megatron does look like a very intimidating and very alien, which my guess is what they were aiming for. You have to take into account the fact they're targeting more then just hardcore fans and want to bring in people who don't even know much about transformers as well. I will admit though soundwave should have been included and bumble bee should have stayed a VW bug(they probably had lisencing issues or something on that) but otherwise it seems pretty cool so far.

One thing that surprises me though is that the new versions don't exactly seem very 'toyetic'. As of late any of the cartoons had the character design be extremely close to the toy design, including their transformation processes. But these new designs don't exactly look like they can be made into toys easily, which there still will be regardless. I find this kind of odd seeing as how the entire Transformers series started based on numerous japanese toy robots being blended into one show, one would assume they'd try coming full circle with them. But then again they are releasing updated versions of old G1 designs, including bumble bee as a bug and megatron as a gun, so I guess they'll let that fit into the 'retro' niche.

I have other pics in the other off topics thread.. I'm not saying don't change the transformers.. cool make them somewhat alien, but Megatron isnt RECOGNIZABLE at all. They could used ANY of his heads and made him recognizable. Hell even the head from beastmachines woulda worked. I hate Michael Bay...

Yeah, this part is 100% correct. The one thing that never changed, or changed very slightly on megatron was his face. Whether he was a gun, a tank, a dinosaur, a dragon, a jet or a wierd alien racecar thingie he always had the same face.

I still think optimus looks cool though.
