More often than not I connect with 1-3 hits against IT mobs. Occasionally I miss all hits.
This is as Mithra, with max possible +DEX and +Acc (excluding uber-expensive items like Peacock or Emperor Hairpin).
I have no problems actually hitting ITs with regular attacks. But when it comes to Penta... | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 01-17-2004, 01:41 PM | #2 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Jul 2003 Posts: 151 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 198 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 198 Donate | I rarely go under 3 on totetote (IT) stuff, and 4-5 hits aren't that uncommon. Centurion visor: +1 DEX
Spike necklace: +3 DEX
Ametrine ring: +2 DEX
Ametrine ring: +2 DEX
Lifebelt: +10 Acc.
Battle gloves: +3 Acc.
+10 DEX, +13 Acc.
I guess that amounts to about +18 Acc.
Can't find any other DEX or Acc. boosting equipment under 200,000 gil...and I'm doubtful I could make 200,000 unless I took a month to hardcore farm 24/7. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 01-17-2004, 02:34 PM | #4 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: May 2003 Posts: 238 Style: Dark - Version 5 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 1,154 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 1,154 Donate | Get a peacock charm. Of course you'd have to take 2 years away from leveling and spend those 2 years in Ghelsba mowing down Orc's. Or you could of course spend 5 years camping the monster that drops it. Whichever you want. Peacock Charm gives +10 acc. It is approximately 4 million gil on Midgardsormr. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 01-17-2004, 02:42 PM | #5 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Bastok Posts: 314 Style: Light - Version 5 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 2,765 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 2,765 Donate | Yea, I was looking around at some items I'd need as higher lvl DRG and all I can say is "Damn." Exactly who prices these things?! I'd have to spend months and months farming just to get 1 item! I mean seriously this is ridiculous. 2million, for a grand knight's lance and 4 million for the peacock charm?! I'd rather farm for about a week and spend 30k on a life belt. ------------------------------------------------ Valen: 33SMN/16WHM | 50DRG/29WAR (Mule-ified) Wobwob: (REACTIVATED) Rank 6

Also 200k shouldn't really be a big thing to you if you're high enough to have Penta, you just need to work on your Gil farming method and maybe level a blm or whm sub so you can farm nonstop without resting much at all. I've tried every gil-farming method I've seen on numerous sites, and as far as I've tried, even 100k...or even 50k a day seems downright impossible. Granted, I don't have TH (which I'm currently trying to get).
It's not that I can't kill non-stop.....it's just that my luck with drop rates seem hideously bad. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 01-18-2004, 06:22 AM | #13 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2003 Posts: 474 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 192 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 192 Donate | Most of the cash I made was basically when I was wandering through an area without camping per se. Basically you just need to know what is valuable on your server and how fast it moves/how much effort it takes. I've been farming Banshees at night in Qufim and usually get half a stack or more of cotton cloth and a few escape scrolls each night. 8k per stack of cotton cloth and between 2500-3k for Escape scrolls. The occasional elemental crystal cluster adds up too, and Light Elementals is like winning the lottery. Try farming Skinks in Sauromugue for Raptor skins or Tabar beaks for giant feathers - on my server stacks are 20k-25k respectively. A lot of my farming is done between waiting for groups in areas near Jeuno and it does add up over time. I don't like NM hunting much because it generally amounts to sitting somewhere for hours til it spawns and you get ganked by a RNG/WAR who just showed up, making the time mostly wasted, and the drops are rare even with THF sub. So far I'm 0/2 on Leaping Lizzy, 0/1 on Leech King, 0 for tons of NM's. Of course if you do luck out, NM hunting can be very profitable. Can always try winning the provoke war on Argus, 4 million gils goes a long way (of course the item is incredibly nice too..).
Anyway, make the most of your time between groups and you will find the cash just tends to appear over time making expenses seem less daunting. The only fast cash methods I've seen is a day of BCNM farming, and DRG isn't so great for BCNM40 which is the one done most often with really profitable drops. Other than that, I don't think anyone has a really fast way to make money which doesn't involve farming a lot of sellables. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 01-18-2004, 08:54 AM | #14 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2003 Location: Bastok Posts: 314 Style: Light - Version 5 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 2,765 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 2,765 Donate | I'm lvl 20 DRG right now, so I can't expect to see some big gil in my pocket until 30 more lvls? Damask Ingots, Astral Shields and Assault Earrings are all high sellers and they all drop from the Palborough Burning Circle.
Besides hunting BCNMs, you can always go Mining. In Gusgen Mines it is extremely profitable yielding Gold Ores.
If you want to invest time instead of money in a trade, try Fishing. I hear at around 60ish skill you can fish up 100k in around 2 hours with no real troubles. However, skill ups come once a year and then it'll only increase your skill by 0.2 ^_^ | | ::Quote Selected:: | | | Thread Tools | | | | Display Modes | Linear Mode | Posting Rules | You may not post new threads You may not post replies You may not post attachments You may not edit your posts HTML code is Off | | | All times are GMT -8.
