Can you meld materia onto the secondary DoH equipment, or only the primary? I'm debating on buying the militia secondary equipment, but you can't meld on them. If you cna meld on the sedondary equipment slots, I'd probably rather HQ a crafted item and then meld onto it. If you can't meld secondary, then those militia items should be the best you can get. I'm also tempted to buy the militia bracelet for 15 mil that gives you a +10 on gathering hq items. 15 mil is really only 1.5 mil come ARR, and if you think the added HQ items you can gather and sell over the life of the game, 1.5 mil aint shit. On those militia bracelets, anyone know the drop rate on them? Do they only drop to the top provisioner of a hamlet defense? How often does that happen or get calculated?

Not sure what you mean but there are shields and tools for off-hand that can have materia melded to them. However, I'm not sure if other "off-hand" items, like a wand, for example, can have materia melded to them. The best thing to do is to go to any online database and just look up the items and see if they can or cannot have materia melded to them.

Secondaries always have more magic craft than the primary tool if you hadn't noticed.

I don't know, I just never looked at them. I kind of assumed you could covert the secondary tools, but I didn't think they'd allow you to meld them. Don't ask me why I assumed that, idk... I just did. Well the militia secondary tools really arent that much better than the other secondary tools. Maybe that's it. I assumed the militia secondary tools would be the best you could get, but single melded secondaries can rival the militia tools...

Uh, the Militia Secondaries are fucking amazing what are you talking about? They're right up there with the Luminaries.

Again, offhand tool serves 2 purposes - higher magic craft than primary (important for some recipes) and when you HQ consumables, you get more quantity instead of quality.

Crafting materia is pretty hard to come by too, it's a real bitch.

I think I posted about this before where the head developer of XIVPads openly admitted to me, in emails going back and forth re: programming flaws in the game, that he personally knew and associated with the maker of FFXIV (Toys) which was some all-in-one "trainer" program for FFXIV which also doubled as a bot. People with that degree of programming knowledge, finding exposed flaws in the game, BUT NOT REPORTING IT TO SE, just really bugs the shit out of me.
