Re: 3ds max&.dat newb seeking help!
.DAT editing for beginners
Getting that 3DS Alpha that just wont work right fixed

You'll need to google for a .MQO plugin for 3DSM that works with your version of 3DSM.

You'll also need Foyle's ModelViewer, once you set you character in the pose you want, [SET to MQO] it and then <follow as the second guide says>

*note*
If you want some more animations and the WotG Mobs, you'll have to use the Japanese MV5, but unless you know MV (the english one) like the back of your hand, or can read Japanese; you'll want to stick with the Foyle version.

Re: 3ds max&.dat newb seeking help!
Things you need.

1. Model viewer (Free)
2. Metasequoia 3d program (free)
3. MQO plugin for your 3ds max version (free)
4. 3ds Max (pay if you can steal if you wish)

A. Open up model view and make the char you would like.
B. Save the char using the MQO option on the right side of screen under your armor and actions.
C. Open up Metasequoia and import your MQO file. Click anywhere in the blue screen and then resave your work as a MQO.
D. Open up 3Ds Max and then import your newest MQO file.

Nin75, Bst75. Drk61, War61, Rdm40, All other jobs are 37. All 3 starting city missions completed. All Zilart missions completed. All CoP missions completed. TouA completed.

FFXI Forums - FFXI Rendering - Killing Ifrit

This link will help you out with the MQO plugin. This link also has an ok guide to get you started.

FFXI Forums - Model Viewer/Altana Viewer/EWH viewer/FFXITOOL UPDATE 21/01/08 - Killing Ifrit

This link is for model viewer

metaseq.net

This is a link for the Meta 3d program to transfer MQO from model viewer to a MQO that 3ds max can read.

This is what it looks like when your done.

Re: 3ds max&.dat newb seeking help!
If you have 3ds max 9 then you don't need to do this:
C. Open up Metasequoia and import your MQO file. Click anywhere in the blue screen and then resave your work as a MQO.

You can skip that program completely.
