ffxidats.com redirect.

Is it just me or is anyone else getting redirected when trying to access ffxidats.com? I don't think I'm plagued with any spyware or anything else of the sort. But this suddenly just began happening this morning.

Here's the other thread: ffxidats.com. Doesn't contain much in the way of answers, though. The site just seems to do that sometimes with some people.

And I consider myself fortunate to be able to busy myself doing something that I like. /bow

I see. What I read from the link certainly does make sense.

I did however try accessing the site again. I got redirected to the advertisement-filled site of which thou shall not be mentioned here. But or the second attempt, I took away the ending backslash in the url. This got me through to the site. Curious, I tried reaccessing the site again with backslash included. I got redirected to ad-filled site once again. Took away the ending backslash again, I get sent to a blank site saying: "Access Forbidden."

At least I know now that I still can access the site, but I wonder why I get redirected to such ad-filled sites pertaining to topics of which thou shall not be mentioned here.

Edit: I tried accessing the site simply by typing ffxidats.com without the beginning http://www.

This way gets me into the site evey time. Not once of the 5 attempts had I been redirected. And now I'm also beginning to get redirected to ad-filled sites pertaining to gil buying when typing out the url completely.

Sounds like it's your browser. I know sometimes firefox will add ".NET" on the end of "/wiki/topic" for whatever reason.

Maybe your browser is searching instead for some reason? a search for ffxi usually returns high rmt results.
