Cel Shading - Attempt

I was exploring KI forums today. and saw something, at first i thought would look terrible, but as i seen it. It looks terrific.


Cell Shaded FFXI Characters mods.


So I have cellshaded a few dats for a test. to see what it looks like in actully game. If it looks good i might attempt to do more. and if i can find a way to turn off the shadows in the game. ( Not the player shadows, but dynamic shadowing ) a few friends of mine are willing to cel shade lot of dats and what not, they fell in love with it.


I know, that alot of people are like " Blehk....that sucks. " I thought the same way. untill i actully saw it. it is very good. a big change.



I dont got a picture of them. but if you goto KI you can see a example of what FFXI Looks like cell shaded. very nice.

That cell shading was actually supposed to be an program run on the game

The post I looked at was someone using 3dstudio to apply the effect out of game. I didnt see nothing about a program to make it that way in game.


if there is such a program, might be wishful thinking, i would love to have it. I think it makes FFXI look so much better.

After a long search on google for a program to force cell shading on FFXI I have come upon a link that says it does it. it is a third party program, and also a hack. but one of the addons is that it allows cellshading. I wont link to it, besides it wants you to "buy" the hack. ( Screw that. )


IF anyone knows anything else about a program that lets you force cellshading. let me know please. I will repay you somehow... Custom Dat or what ever i can manage.

Also found out that a version of the JPWindower had a option for this as well. just updating to let everyone know who that is interested into it.

yea,that thing is fun and easy on the eyes. Didn't consume as many processes as i thought it would either.
