try shortening the path... make the filenames shorter and put in "My Documents" or a directory closer to your root directory... Also, do you have any special imaging software installed that affects your image previews, or anything that tries to preview .dat files...(such as a video codec... I know.dat comes up as video on my computer...)? |

Sounds like a local problem. If you unzipped them properly, they are just jpg files like most pictures. Either the program you are trying to view them with isn't compatible with jpgs, you aren't unzipping them right, corrupted download, corrupted hd space, or corrupted OS. Many things that it could be with so little information.

shortening the path seemed to work for most of them acually, i assume the others will do the same if i move them, thanks

yeah, Explorer, especially older versions, seem to have a limit on filename length, and it becomes a problem for me because i have a tendency to double-layer my folders. (IE: C:\Docume~1\tim\mydocu~1\mypict~1\pr0n\pr0n\...etc ) Fortunately I use short filenames.

Best solution...don't bother with my documents folder. Just put them in a folder directly on your c drive, or get a more current version of windows. Haven't heard of any having those problems since win98.

Think windows itself has a 256 max character limit, I remember seeing it in windows XP O_o
