Someone else made this request on another forum but it never got answered. http://www.fotosearch.com/comp/DEX/DEX111/PH011_013.jpg
If at all possible can someone find a way possible to make these? Ive tried but most of my turn out bad. If you want to do it in any race you can because I think all races would look good with this. But if you insist on specifics, HF.

I made it a straw hat, but if you want it in any other texture you're gonna have to either do it yourself or someone else can finish the task for you and upload it. I'm not gonna have internet until late friday and don't have time for a request touch up tonight . Theres also a problem with the lighting which I don't know how to fix as theres no alpha mapping in the file I can tweak.
I give permission to anyone to edit this file and distribute it as long as I'm given credit. Edit: Just thought I'd throw in that if you want it for another race/sex, its extremely easy to port this. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-26-2006, 05:17 PM | #3 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Posts: 59 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 1,337 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 1,337 Donate | Re: Samurai rain hat request Wow thats pretty good! Very good in design too. The texture works as well because I see these hats like that more than anything else. On this one, I took a regular headband and made a cone shaped hat out of it easily.
Not gonna upload. It's pretty simple to make, but alot more work would go into details. I just made this as a quickie experiment. I had to edit the size of it when I got the file made but still couldnt make it look like what you made. Looked like I was balancing a plate on my head. Could you PM me how ya did that? | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-28-2006, 11:35 PM | #7 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Posts: 270 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 3x in 3 Posts Gil: 9,719 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 9,719 Donate | Re: Samurai rain hat request When you start out, you have half a ring made of 2 circles. Because they were made to fit the shape of a head, they're kinda uneven.
Take the top circle and scale Y-axis to zero so that the top is even. Do the same with the bottom circle so that you have 2 perfectly horizontal loops, one above the other.
Now, raise the upper circle above where you'd guess the top of the head is located. Then take the bottom circle and move it down at or below the eyes.
Next, highlight the upper circle and turn on the scale tool. Grab the Yellow cube and shrink it proportionally to a point, but not at 0 (more like .1, this is incase you want to port it later). Afterwards, do the same with the bottom circle except you expand it.
Since they are half circles, you'll have to change to top view and shift the parts around until you make a half circle (notice you still have an oval shape from the head, scale down with the blue square and scale up with the red for a more round look).
Save and change back. You'll probably end up with a peice of head sticking out the hat surface or the hat being too big. It's rinse and repeat from that point til you get the look just right.
Next, take a paint type of program, copy a huge chunk of the bmp from Ritsusei's mod and paste it over the headband's bmp. The headband's pic frame should crop out the extra bits after you flatten and save. Then gc3 it to dds and you got a nice straw hat. Like this one. Until I got a problem.
Seems the hat wants to do this number on HF and its driving me nuts. Think you can fix the problem? | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-29-2006, 09:35 AM | #9 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Posts: 270 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 3x in 3 Posts Gil: 9,719 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 9,719 Donate | Re: Samurai rain hat request Looks like you rotated the hat on the wrong axis instead of changing your view setting. Just select all and rotate it back with the red ball. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-29-2006, 12:30 PM | #10 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Posts: 16 Style: Dark - Version 5 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 386 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 386 Donate | Re: Samurai rain hat request looks great deo, especially with hachiman gear. making it my optical hat ^^
but i noticed that with some mithra face models the hair stands out in the back, its really noticable with the F5-A/B ones. kind of makes it all kooky lookin. is there anyway to fix that without having to completely change the position of the hat? i think that hat position is perfect, but the hair sticking out just kind of throws the look | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-29-2006, 01:27 PM | #11 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Dec 2005 Posts: 270 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 3x in 3 Posts Gil: 9,719 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 9,719 Donate | Re: Samurai rain hat request Hmm, without tiling the hat?
1) I guess you could make the hat into a pac-man shape and let the hair poke out.
2) raise the hat and stretch it out the rim until the hair tucks in
3) get a different head
4) Make a brand new one using a helmet, cap, or pointed cloth hat. That would be more complex. Plus, if you don't shape it right, you'll be seeing holes in your head.
5) I personally would just reposition the hat Maybe just tilt it forward and raise it all up until it barely covers the eyes. | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-29-2006, 02:20 PM | #12 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Nov 2005 Posts: 16 Style: Dark - Version 5 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 386 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 386 Donate | Re: Samurai rain hat request option 5 sounds like a good bet. i know i said without tilting the hat but if option 5 looks cool who am i to argue. besides its your mod, im just making a slight request | | ::Quote Selected:: | | 03-29-2006, 07:31 PM | #13 (permalink) | | Junior Member Join Date: Aug 2005 Posts: 59 Style: Light - Version 6 Thanks: 0 Thanked 0x in 0 Posts Gil: 1,337 Bank: 0 Total Gil: 1,337 Donate | Re: Samurai rain hat request well the only thing is its on the right axis however when doing a running motion, it bobs back and forth. Should just follow your head movements completely. Unless you just copied and pasted off the one I uploaded, you shouldn't have any problems.
